Default Just ordered my trex 700e dfc hv kit

What's up freaks beeN away for a while and I was just wondering if there is any major mechanical Difference s between the dfc hv kit and the new pro dfc kit with the new canopy and blades? Also I've heard nothing but bad things about the 3gx system and am wondering if the spectrum ar7200bx would be a good choice or should I splurge for the Mikado vbar and if I were to run some servos that pull low amps such as the outrage 9180 s is there a way to run everything off the main flight battery's with a regulator I'm new to flybarless and to 12 s so any advice would be great

Well, here's some good about the 3GX: It works just perfectly for 3D on the 700E.vI've heard it's less good on really small machines, but on larger ones it's perfect.

Use something like an Hercules Super BEC to run it all of the flight pack, it's by far the best way to go along all crteria (reliability, simplicity, ...) .... except price I guess!

I could never get the 3GX dialled in the way I wanted it so I went for the Vbar and never looked back, have them on all my big birds.

As you have the HV kit I would go for a 2s lipo to power the RX and servos direct, never had any issues doing that but others here do prefer using a BEC, either way you should be fine.

Earlier this year I ran 2s life on all my helis until I accidentally ran one dangerously low. Since then I switched everything over to BEC. I also like the simplicity of it.
I purchased the Gryphon 75V 20A HV Switching BEC and have had good luck with them.

If you decide to go the BEC route castle creations bec pro 12s switching regulator is another option at only $41.00. I think its a good value for most. Out put voltage is 4.8 to 12 volt.

Never used a life, I have the TM1000 telemetry interface on all my birds that run a 2s lipo for RX and servos, this monitors the pack voltage so when it gets to a preset voltage I will get an onscreen warning along with an audible bleep.

Never had any issues with this system, it always warns me when I need to change my RX pack.

No mechanical difference that I'm aware of. Main, tail blades, canopy and motor are different. everything else the same.

Elevator bracket is different also. Pro n standard birds will fly the same except a little more punch because of a bigger motor and more aerodynamic in backwards flight due to new canopy design. Pro has newer servo's and new castle edge esc.

We all run the Ar7200bx and it works great. But don't forget you need a sat too.

Yes Sir...I now run telemetry on all my birds as well. Its a nice safety feature. Also run scorpion back up guard.

I forgot to mention another reason why I like the BEC method. I fly a lot in the winter months and didnt want to risk an on-board lipo / liFe failure in cold weather. Im also lazy, I dont want to plug in another connection or turn a switch on...lol.

Thanks for the clarification...I have often wondered the exact difference. And yes, the only difference that I have noticed in (sport) flight between dfc pro and older 700e is power. Both of my 700s are set up the same with the exception of servos.

Has built in antenna but bigger birds require optional separate sat. Like a trex 250 doesn't need the optional sat but bigger birds do. For peace of mind I'd put the extra sat reguardless.

What part would that be like just a spektrum sat by itself?

Looks like the servos that come in the kit are rated for 4.8 - 7.4 volts. Does anyone know if it's ok to run a lipo straight into the receiver @ 8.4 volts?

If you bought the HV kit as you mentioned in the first post, yes, you can use a straight 2S Lipo.

Hi congrats on your new kit ,,

Sorry to hijack , thought you all might be able to give me a bit of info , as I'm looking at buying this kit too.

I'm not to clued up on the bec and voltage regulators , my 550 is using a talon 90 esc and I run everything off one pack, much like I do on my 450 , when I buy my 700 does the esc not have a built in bec to power my servos and radio ? I don't really want to use an extra radio pack like I had to on my nitros. .

On the Hv kit the only diff I see are the Hv servos , these are rated at 7.5 the 3gx is good for 8.5 , but the align bec steps the v down to 6v so I wouldn't be getting the full potential from the servos , which in that case would the none Hv kite be a better option ??

Sorry for the ? S thanks guys ..

Is there a reason why you don't use BEC? It would clean your build further and no switches.
