Default Main Shaft

There is a collar just above the frame that the main shaft slides through. Does anybody know what the collar is for and should it be just above frame? Esky belt cp v2. Thanks guys!

hi there yeah its really just security, it also helps eliminate any play in the shaft and when inverted stops the shaft pushing through the bottom of the frame.
fits where you stated

You need it! It keeps the upper bearing in place. the upper bearing can slide up in flight. It will also keep the shaft from moving up and down.

+1 on the others. Thae collar keeps the shaft from dropping down which would cause the main gear to interact with the tail gear. Not a good thing. If the tail gear was not there the main shaft would drop all the way down till the gears hit the bottom of the frame or the swash was all the way up in the head.
