Most of the T-Rex folks remove the idler tail pulley a if frays the belt.
Anyone doing the same thing on the MX-400 / MX-450 ?

Default pully

Never had anyproblem with the belt on my MX450. I did see a post in the T-rex forum where somone recommended using the MX pully because it has the channel sides and will limit the belt walking.

i took mine off a while back. then this past weekend i put a new belt on her. first flight after the new belt install was very shakey. i could not figure out why, i tried all manner of belt loosen/tightening and no dice. no crashes either, so i know nothing was bent. i put the idler pulley back on and whalla! no vibration! i can't figure it out, but the pulley will stay on from now on.

Having read the following thread: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=54464
post # 12 from Pinecone, I will leave the pulley on the MX-400, and add a MX-400 pulley back to the T-rex. Had a closer look at the pulleys and yes, the MX-400 has a flange where the T-rex does not. IMO, the MX-400 pulley is properly designed witth the flanges stopping the belt from wandering and fraying.
