Hi guys,

I just recieved an Align-RCE-600 HH Gyro and Hitec HSG-5084MG Tail Servo Combo for my Trex 500.

The supplied Hitec HSG-5084MG Servo is too small to fit the Tail Servo mounting bracket.

I'm starting to think I've been swindled. The suppliers advert stated 'Suitable for Trex 450-500'.

Having sent them several emails regards the problem, they come back stating that Align has told them this setup works with, (and fits) the Trex 500.

As a newbie, I'm a bit naive and just went ahead and bought it.

Looks like this setup would fit the 450 ok.

Can it be modded to fit the 500? or am I wasting time and money and should just get a 401 combo?

You haven't been swindled. I have the same setup on a Protos 500. If the servo won't fit the mounting bracket get a different bracket or mod the one you have. When they say suitable for 500 size heli they mean it perform or function in that size heli, not that it will bolt right up. You actually have a very good gyro servo combo. I was just informed by RC-TEK that I could now purchase their new SJM430 E² (Extreme Edition), I ordered it without motor, esc, servos, or gyro (the plain basic kit $369.95, I already have everything else). This is a 500 class bird.

I intend to use the new RCE-600 gyro/servo combo in it, and expect at least good, if not possibly stellar, results. Thus far, everything I've heard about Align's new gyro combo has been very good.

If RC-TEK's spares availability is as good, I'll be very happy, I think!

Thanks guys,

Just got an email back from my supplier stating that Align have indeed given it the thumbs up (the Hitec HSG-5084MG Tail Servo) and that there is an adaptor available for mounting.

Hmm, still think I'll wait till they get more stock of the 401 combo's. I might put this in a Trex 450 when I eventually get one.
