No, you want HH mode.

No, A little sub trim is ok after mechanical setup, i.e., 90 degree on servo and 90 on tail slider.

I would bet that finless has setup videos, you need to watch them. It's a lot of work to try and explain tail/gyro/servo setup in a thread at least for me. I don't even think about this stuff. I just follow a process because I understand fundamentally what's needed. Your missing very fundamental knowledge.

Yes,
tilt heli forward=swash tilts back.
Tilt right=swash tilts left.
Spiin the boom away from you, CounterCW and the tail slider should move the opposite way. eg toward you in this instance CW.

I bet you never even set end points to avoid end blocking.

You have to go into your dx8 function list, scroll down to Gyro, then under Normal, set the number to a minus, for example, -45 for rate mode.

Stunt/ idle up 1 and/or 2, set the number to a plus, For example, +50 for Heading Hold mode.

You use the Flight Mode switch to switch gyro setting in Normal, stunt/idle up 1, stunt/idle up 2.....

You want the SW in the gyro menu to be SW:F Mode. You can have it set to Gov if you like, i just like having it on the assigned FM switch.

However, considering you're still coming to terms with this, I would recommend starting this way before changing switch assignments. You dont need to be thinking about this now for obvious reasons.

On my Dx8 i have the gyro on Ch:gear. also. It maybe different for the Bx as use 3gx?

Seriously OP, one of the things that hf does is bring people together. Suggest you go to the member locator and see who is near you.

The ar7200bx tail gyro is defaulted to the gear channel. You need to default the gyro to gear channel. Then select a switch. Most use the Flight Mode switch to change gyro setting.

Your gyro setting numbers will be at default zero setting untill you change them.

Is there anyway you can take your 700 and tx to one of the major rc shops in the Los Angeles basin, to go over this stuff with you?

Yes. But so far you have been quite lucky. If it had been your head instead of tail you would now have a box of parts...

You are right by mission viejo, etc. Lots of folks around there that will hopefully be receptive to helping you in person.

No way can this forum do a comprehensive exam of your bird remotely.

Have you changed this yet? Btw set your Gyro gain for +60 in Normal for a start.
I dont think you need to be worrying about Idle up modes just yet.
