For that gearing you would want something in the 800kV - 850kV range, alternatively (and a better option IMHO) get a 50T primary gear and a Z-power 980kV motor if you want to fly sports http://www.flying-hobby.com/shop/ind...oducts_id=3005 , or a Scorpion 4020 910 if you want a turbo nutter 3D machine (though you may risk stripping gears !!!!) http://www.readyheli.com/Scorpion-HK...1_p_33504.html

Thanks. I was thinking about 3026-1400 with a gear train of 13t 60t 20t 61t should give me about 2200. Will the 4020-910 fit as it is 8mm bigger in diameter than the motor that came with the kit.
The heli is a 550 but soon to be a 425

The 1400kv motor will work fine if you plan on shortening it to a 425. I am using a Z20-1470kv motor on my 425 with 15-50-20-61 gears and it flys great.

The "calculated" head speed is about 2700 to 2800, but I have never tached it. I am using cheap 6s 2500mah Mega Power batteries and get 5:00 min flights.
