I wrote the date on my calendar, back when they announced the dates... My wife just noticed it today, and of course said, "You're not going, it's ridiculous...."

You know, I don't ask her to like heli's, but I'd think she could at least respect my love of them.... He excuse, she has to work, but won't even let me go the weekend...

I think I'll be trying to convince her for the next few weeks... I only live in Michigan, a few hours away, and have wanted to go since I started flying a couple years ago.... Funny thing, I don't even want to fly, I just want to go, and watch everything, check out the vendors, and manufacturers, and such.... Maybe try to sell a few of my own.... There's my ticket in.... I'll tell the wife I'm going to sell a bunch of my helis.... hehehe

Still holding out hope I can make it.... Just plan on bringing a tent, and chilling...

Wish me luck...

You would not even begin to believe how much stuff you can buy at IRCHA. You name it and regards to helis and you can buy it. And most of the time, you can find some good deals. Lots of the vendors offer discounts through IRCHA. Happy shopping!!!

I think I am going to spectate. Sounds like a noob could learn a lot in one day of observation and some conversation with veterans.

You are very correct. No matter what your flavor is (Turbine, 3D, Scale) You will find it there. If you have any questions I would be happy to talk with you. I will be there Thursday night through Sunday. I will be around. Look for the 5 year flying and i will be the dad in the background looking the other way. Just kidding, he has some good spotters with him, but he fired me for some of the cooler kids.

Thank you for the offer! I see on the website for the Jamboree that they have a beginner section at site 3, what all is involved with that and do you have to be a registered pilot to sit in on any seminars?

Default Hmm?

I do not know if you have to be registered to attend the seminars? I am sure someone who knows will chime in and let us know. You do have to be signed up to fly though, no matter which area you are at. Also, there are some killer pilot prizes. It is worth signing up just for those, even if you don't fly.

I have gone to a few seminars and I have never seen anyone turned away because they did not have their badge on so I would say no you do not need to be registered.

Fri. and Sat. (Sat. night fly is worth the trip) are probably the best days. There is not too much going on Sun. so do not plan on anything but people flying and a few vendors that have not packed up yet on Sun.

I will be heading up on Mon. and staying until Sun. this year.

Site 3 is more for beginners and such, there is a Heli Clinic on site that can help you with any questions you may have, even setting up your bird and doing a basic test flight for you.
