Default Trex 700 rotorhead on Raptor ?

'Just curious, has anyone put a Trex 700 rotorhead (flybared version) on a Raptor 90?

I had a bit of a mishap with my Raptor 90 due to the collective link coming off the servo which resulted in a very hard landing and the original plastic Raptor head sheared off.

I happen to have a Trex 700 head (complete with everything above the swash) that I bought for another project and then realised I couldn't use it for that project.

It seems to fit straight on and I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work but I'm curious if anyone has done this and if there are any issues I am unaware of.

I also have a Raptor 90 3d flybarred, and also considered putting on a T-rex 700 head but the flybarless one, anyone done that before, its either a trex head kasama or gforce head, are there any other nice heads flybarless for the raptor 90 ?

I used a 600 head on my R50 and worked quite well. Did have to modify it though. Used the raptor washouts on the Align slider to get proper alignment with the swash. Also had to make different mixing levers to get enough pitch throw. Put it on and see what you get. Maybe try the raptor mixing levers if don't get enough throw. Give it a try

If you can find a G-Force tuner head, get it. It's built like a tank and had adjustable phasing. When I do rolls, the bird rolls like it's on a string...no correction needed here.

I just finished putting a 700 head on my 90. Flew it today for the first time. 40 degrees and 15mph wind so I only flew once but seemed great.

I have +13 -13 on pitch and 10 degrees on cyclic.

We still have crappy weather here so I have only flew it once with this set up. It did roll like it was on a string. That's a good sign. Motor is also not tuned for the cold. I usually just fly my electrics in the cold.

Man , thats awsome. I had no Idea that would work. I think I will wait untill next bad crash to make the switch. I just bought a brand new polished 700N Head . Is there anything special with the links or did you just follow measurements in the 700 Manual? Please post back and let me know how she does when you get some decent weather okay? We actually reached 70 today. Thanks again!

I bought the 700 head used. Leveled the swash and installed the head with the links it came with. Super simple. Cant wait to fly it again.

I have a Trex FBL head that I'm going to try to fit to my buddy's R90 today. I'll let you guys know if it works out alright. It would be nice to make the conversion and ditch all that extra rotor head stuff off the Rappy. Probably won't make the slightest dent in the AUP though.

Curious to see if the 700 FBL head worked out? I have a 90SE that I would love to go FBL with ...

Thanks!

trex 700 head works great on the 90 fbl. i had to make up new links because of the size on the 700 but a couplr turnbuckles from hanger 9 work perfect for that.
