To my knowledge the OWB didn't change in the kit. That would also require the 690sx motor mount / counter bearing designed to take the double-stacked OWB and eliminate the c-clip.

Yep for the last two years I have been flying giant 3d planes...still do. I always took my logo as well and flew it on most trips to the field until a few months ago when I pushed it in the dirt.

The full story is I just got done hovering my new 120cc 3dhobby Shop Edge 540, 3" a was feeling puffed up. So I was ripping the logo just off the ground as well, but the ground reached up at the end of a flight. Started pricing parts and realized I need a new kit when the parts added up to $500. It sat and now I am back.

Still in Oklahoma?

Hemp, thanks. I was just checking since I believe the 600 doesn't need the double OWB at all, I was just curious. Swash is a nice upgrade for crashes sake only, original one is perfect in flight but it does bend easily in a crash.

New belt is black as the new 690SX, right? Or still kevlar one? I miss the kevlar belts on my 550 and 690, actually on the 690 if it's ever so slightly too tight the teeth produce a noise at the back pulley, a symptom of stretching which never ever happened with kevlar belts.

In one of McLarens photos I saw a polyurethane/Kevlar belt.

Yes, the new 690SX belt has a different tooth profile and is not interchangeable with the other models. Same as the 550SX, I tend to find on some belts flipping it over makes it run smoother. You can also do a hot soak on it if it is really tight and that helps as well, but not necessary as I have only had to do this on one.

Yes, Oklahoma City!

You need to take a serious look at VPlane for those giant scale airplanes!!!

I will be at the Apache Pass event in a few week, will you make it?

I have just completed mine and as ever it went together very well, I made a couple of upgrades: The centre belt pulley is now the upgraded aluminium one as the plastic one Ive stripped during flight many times. The tail grips have been replaced for Quick UK Aluminium ones which are far stronger. Apart from that all standard.
Electrics:
Waiting on the Vbar Neo (about 1 week away)
Futaba BLS272HV and BLS276 Tail
Kontronik 750-56 Pyro 13 tooth pinion
Kontronik 120Helijive
Optipower 4300 50c 5s packs (10s set-up)
Optiguard

Looking forward to flying this one after having a 600SX for nearly 2 years . Always a superb model to fly.
