Default 250 3G FBL conversion... yellow Align ESC

Hi all-

I've read that the yellow Align ESC is not powerful enough to use with a FBL setup. I understand I should be using the blue ESC (if sticking with Align), but that will take a few days to get. I want to fly this thing while I wait for the new ESC to get here. I won't be doing anything other than hovering and slow flight. Do I really need to wait for the blue ESC when there won't be any aggressive flight? I've also been told that the blue ESC is necessary if I was using the 3GX FBL, but not for the 3G, which is what I have. Thoughts?

I'd fly as is if your only hovering about . There is a chance of a Brown out however I'd be surprised if your not loading the electronics with hard manouvers.
You can bench test by swirling the Cyclic for a min or two to see if everything responds correctly without any strange Swash reactions.

I wasn't even able to complete the initial 3GX setup with the yellow ESC. I switched mine out for a Turnigy Plush 18A, so far so good.

It is the internal BEC that is causing some people brown out when using it with the 3GX. Blue ESC(newest one) has bigger internal BEC and is switch mode, instead of linear mode on yellow(BL15X).

With 3G, you most likely will be okay with the yellow ESC(BL15X).

For any FBL set up, external BEC is recommended unless you have ESC with built BEC that is strong enough(i.e. CC Talon)
