Scale Nano CPX :)

Didn't see anyone put a scale fueslage on the Nano yet so here's mines Got bored so I decided to try out some Esky Nano canopies I had laying around. Guess what? the Esky Nano fuselage will fit the Eflite Nano haha

How does it fly with the extra weight? I plan on useing the Bravo SX fuselages.

Here's mine with Nine Eagles Bravo SX body and skids. Very little mods required if any!

Very cool! Any more details on the retro fit? How much flight time are you getting on a single battery charge? I saw a Bravo three in the LHS today in camo that looked great - could order the fuse alone and try to retrofit it. Also, It looks like Heli Max has bought exclusive rights to NE SP 127 and they are calling it th MD 530. It is slightly bigger than the Bravo sx and has a removable magnetic canopy. I may opt for the Dylan BL conversion and retrofit the 530 fuse. Nice work!

Wow that MD500 fuse looks great! With mines I can tell there was a slight difference in flight with the extra weight. Brushless would be the way to go with with a full fuse alright flip it and let's see some inverted shots hehehe

With a brushless, it may be better to go with the Heli Max MD 530 also made by Nine Eagles. It is slightly bigger, has a removable magnetically held front canopy, room for a larger battery, and the tail boom is loner which will allow for a extended BL boom. Check it out. I would reinforce the tail with a few pieces of cf and paint it flat black to make it a ah6.

I saw that one, and isn't that more of an MCPX than the Nano?
I am very happy with my little Nano, it performs very well with the fuselage. I don't think I'll be adding any alloy to this one as it seems perfect the way it is.
Only thing I might consider, is determining what scale it is, and possibly finding a suitable cockpit interior for it. I think it's 1/48, could be 1/72, but seeing how small the Hughes 500 is in general, I'm thinking 1/48. I'll have to take the chopper with me to Hobby Town and see how it sizes up to the scale models.

Oh, and since we stickied the scale MCPX thread, can we sticky this one as well? Thank you!

In stock form, the sx body is fine but you are limited in terms of the battery you can use. If you go brushless, the MD530 my be a better alternative because it can accommodate a longer tail boom and larger batteries. What is nice is there are alternatives for either setup. What size battery are you using in the sx and how long are your flight times? Thanks!

So far, stock Eflight batteries. Run time, unsure as I have not clocked it yet.

I just got a set of 10 Nanotech batteries for the Nano as well. However, they currently will not fit the 500's battery tray. I will have to do some mods to the battery tray or come up with a better way to mount the batteries so I can use the upgraded battery.

I will try and remember to time my flights when I have a moment to do so.

I will first time my flight with the stock batteries, then with the Nano's.

Thanks so much Varc for taking the time to do this. Please let me know how your battery mod goes. I am doing a comparison of the different sizes of both NE and Blade helis to see which are more compatible. With a longer tail boom do a BL nano, the md530 may be ok. The MD530 is slightly bigger than the nano and smaller than the MCPX. An MCPXesk BL nano conversion with a longer tail boom to fit may be a good mach for the larger MD530. I will watch your progress on he SX and will fill you in on my progress on the MD530. Also, check out the fuses at Heli Scale Quality - beautiful stuff - and nano fuses are forth coming.

160's. My Dad likes my nano so much that he want's me to put his in a fuselage as well. So, it look's like I'm going to get the camouflaged version and when I get it, I'll do a How-To tutorial. I also plan on adding the side rocket launchers and/or machine guns on mine.

I was also thinking of getting another Nano one of these day's, and another white Hughes 500 and have that painted up like TC's chopper from Magnum PI. But for now, I'll be going military style. Anyway, when I get the second fuselage, I'll do a tutorial. Cheers!

I bought mine off ebay. I was originally going to buy the entire helicopter for $90, but then I saw that I could get just the fuselage for less than $10!
