Default Should I get a 550sx or 690sx?

I was wondering If I should I get a 690sx and run a smaller boom just so I get all the upgrades of the 690

The 550SX works great the way it is.

Mine is beautifully balanced and efficient with a great light weight.

I've got a powerful Pyro 650-103 in my 550 and it has had no issues.

Starting with a 690SX will just make it heavier as a smaller heli and not give you any real benefits.

In fact I know a number of people who are flying 550SX's stretched to 600mm and are loving that configuration rather than flying a 600SX.

That said the 600SX is a very different heli than a stretched 550 is and both have their advantages.

What are your needs ?

even if it was a good idea..... where are you going to get a shorter belt?

the information out of mikado is the 690 has a different tooth type and you can't use a 550sx belt on it. if you find a belt let me know.
