If the nx is anything like the 16, it's gonna be a great heli. I think my Rex 450 pro is gonna get a little dusty. Lol

that pack is easy fit, can even fit a 6s 5000 with no mods.
For a long flight time you'll whant the most effecient setup so as not to waiste power in makeing heat, for this I would recomend 6s , I have the century 650A 800 kv motor on 6s in mine and it runs near ambient temps doing mild 3D anf FF so for your use should be even more effecient.with a 5000 amh 6s pack at lower head speeds you should have some very long run times.

Ahh.. Got the swift today. I did up my canopy. I also got cc Esc and 8900g. Rx will be here on the 2nd. I'm getting worried about the gyro I bought from this site. no tracking info and no show yet. I hope it's just held up at the post office somewhere. Hmmm..

I've had shippers like that. So far they've always come through. The only company that's really made me unhappy with their shipping/service is Hobby King. In an effort to not make this a 3 page post, me angry and ruin my day that's all I'll say about them.
Anyhow, I think you'll like the NX. There are a lot of design ideas in it that are so much better than my T-Rex 450.

Well, she is built. Wow,what a simple build. Only pain was the elev. Servo links. My fingers didn't wanna fit to snap them on. Lol servos are in, waiting on 4mm bullet connectors and m4 screws to mount the motor. Then the rest of the electronics will be fitted. I may be in need of a gyro if mr postman lost mine.

Gooberseptember,

How long did it take you to put it together? Tell us about the built, give us some details on the experience. Any tips for future builders? I have the NX as the next runner up on my list

P.S.: Where did you buy the gyro from?

Will do. I'm not much of a "blogger" tho. Lol.

I bought it off of a fellow member. All is good tho. Were working it out. It's a lil to cold here in pa to fly, so I'm gonna wait it out to see if mr postman gets it to me.

As for build time 2.5-3hrs. That only includes the build and mounting all servos and linkages. (also watching my 9yr old and my 10mont old)

I need to mount motor( after installing bullets) and the rest of the electronics.
The canopy I did yesterday and prep was about 20-25 min. I did my own "custom" design. Im no artist, but I have 3/4 roll of high quality neon yellow vinyl I wanted to try out.

I will get pics up, but don't hold your breath waiting. Lol

I recommend pulling the head apart and lubing your dampers with a synthetic grease and greasing your thrust bearings.Your waiting for parts so it is good to check. If the weather holds mine should be ready later this week.

What kind/brand of grease do you recommend or use? I have some Tri-Flow synthetic grease I use on my mt. bikes but wasn't sure if I could use for this.

im sure not everyone will agree with me, but i have always used "dupont teflon dry wax lubricant".(blue can with jeff gordon # 24 on the can) It goes on wet, but dries instantly and makes everything silky smooth. And at pnly $3ish a can, you can spray every contact point, every flight, and it it will last all summer. LOL I use it on my main shaft, all linkages you name it. No build up and it doesnt attract dirt, Lowes is where i get it from.

You bet that should be perfect.I use tri flow synthetic oil and I have had a syringe of Miniture Aircraft (Xcell) syn grease that I have had for about the last 13 years. I lube my thrusts ect with it.The syringe is getting close to empty ,it probably is tri Flow grease .You just got to keep petroleum based grease and oil away from the head dampers as it may make them swell.Remove the spindle and grease the dampers and reinstall, the spindle should move fairly free.
