Id like to know this too!!
i had 00294 which was faulty (loose item inside) so that got sent back and replaced with 00141 but that came with 3.1 although it only lasted 16seconds before going pop so its back at Kontronik.

I would email them and ask them to update it while it is with them.

Why would you have to ask?
For the amount of money this speedie asks, you would think the manufacturer would upgrade/update everything to the latest and greatest while they have it??

That would be my expectation anyway.

Couldn't agree more.

What if they don't, and send it back? It costs nothing to send an email.

You would also think that for the money and the reputation of the manufacturer that they would make it work problem free? I did put a note in the sevice form for them to update it seen as the Germans aren't acting very German latley :-)

There is a box to tick if you want the software upgraded or not on the service form that you need to send in with an item going back to the factory.

What if a customer does NOT want it upgraded for whatever reason, what happens then if they took it upon themselves to upgrade it?

Simply tick the box if you do

yah, you will not lose anything by checking the box and emailing them. I recently recieved my Pyro from them after they fixed the glue magnets and have requested to change the shaft yo the long version and they forgot

We will see how it goes, both of my ESC's are going back today because of the failure to load the new firmware.

They should be under warranty but no receipts but I requested them from RotoQuest and Experience and will email them. I am shipping them air so I'm interested to see the turnaround.

Both ESC are new and were used for fresh builds this winter with both having less than 5 flights on them.

I will surely keep you all posted but I will say this, K-USA PM'ed me 5 or 6 times trying to help right away which I thought was really great.

Gents, Quick question, which address to I send back the parts to be serviced? I don't know the German address format and there appear to be several on the service form, hence my question.

Thank you.

If the company wants to improve relations and reduce the number of support questions then they need to communicate this to the customers.

Knowing clearly what address to send return parts is one as well as clearly posting on their website which serial numbers are affected by this issue. It would be nice that they also clearly posted specs on their motors without having to hunt it down.

KONTRONIK_Service_Form.pdf

Here is the form, filled out and ready to go, for those who care to see it. As you can see, I want it fixed no matter if Warranty covers or not.

They have only been available for less than a year so I am sure the warranty will cover it.

Did you order them online?? If so you can just print out the email receipt and that should be golden

If your interested in having them upgraded to the Kool Kosmik now would be the time to do it though.

Thank you.
This is the adress I sent mine to:

KONTRONIK GmbH
-Service-
Etzwiesenstr. 35/1
72108 Rottenburg

Germany

Make sure you write down "Return for service", so the German customs won't hold on to it.

I thought it was the other way round?
There were 200s that needed the hardware update, not 160s?

My 160 is running whatever firmware it came with.....it seems to be working great so I'm going to leave it alone!
