Default Any new birds coming ?

I flew my brand new 500 sport Goblin into a football field goal pole full power full speed pass a month ago and its basically wrote off. I flew nothing but Goblins for past 2 years and overall its been wonderful !

Grabbed a protos max and really enjoyed building it. I'm wondering about a 6S protos machine ?

Is there a new one on the way or is the current one fairly recent ? Only thing you can't beat is the goblin visibility , I been spoiled, I can see those silly things a block away.

You'll get a few different answers. But essentially even if there is one coming it won't be in time for this flying season so if you need a 6s rig in your fleet, consider teh current p500.

The p500 is one of those designs that will be around for a long time. It has a cult like following type of helicopter. I honestly dont think there is a reason to come up with a new design. In my experience this heli has few faults. The main one being it's one way bearing solution. I have had issues with the tail, but I'm in the minority.

If you like the max for it's innovative design, you'll like the 500. Even tho it's been around since flybarred days.

One big difference from the max is that the 500 is hte lightest in it's class. So it lends itself to a few different configurations. You can fly it stupid high headspeed, or dial it back. It has more tail pitch than any heli I have ever owned too, so the tail on it is pretty good.

One thing I don't like about the P500 is that it bends spindle shafts and even main shafts pretty easily. A botched auto can mean new/straightened spindle and new blade grips. But as bgymr says, it's one of the lightest in its class, and also capable of high head speed.

I'm looking for a 12s-capable 550, and for me it basically comes down to the Logo 550, Compass 550 or Goblin 570. But I'd love to get my hands on the Forza 550 or whatever MSH have planned in this size.

Well I've flown and built many times almost every size Goblin, I can offer my 2 cents on the 570. Its a GREAT Goblin. It has a few quirks which can be worked around easily. Not a lot of room under the canopy when you do 12s but just an awesome flying Goblin. Great crashing, fast as heck to rebuild. But the flip side of being a good crasher and a quick rebuild, is its on the basic side, no tail belt guidance system, no way to properly square the tail box if you're ocd like me. No main belt tensioning method except pull and tighten. Only two regular bearings supporting main shaft, you know just very simple.

But the greatest asset bar none is you can see it from work its so visible !!

The Synergy E5 would be another option of a 12s capable 550.

If you aren't stuck on 550 exactly, I would consider a gaui x5 on 12s. I have one and it's awesome. I don't like flying crazy headspeeds but like to fly hard. I geared it way down and get 4.5 minutes of smacking it around really hard and you can't bog it. Plus it's cheap when you bury it. I buried my Synergy n5c once, granted it was the hardest crash I've ever had, and it was absurd how much it costs to get a synergy flying again.

With no MSH heli's at rotor live, I'm assuming it will be a long time before we see the v2 mini or p500.

Cough cough, (-;

Rotorlive is definitely not an indicator of near term plans. Maybe an indicator of being too swamped to burn some weeks to properly prepare for it.

So far you guys know about Evoluzione launching soon. Stay tuned for a lot more. There has been little rest at MSH.

I disagree from my experience. The main shaft is very tough. I have had a few system failure crashes that didn't budge the hollow mainshaft at all. The feathering shaft is also very tough although not as tough as the mainshaft.

You haven't flown the Chase, mate. I *have* very slightly kinked the main shaft on that, but it still flies fine, but never bent the other shafts with two hard crashes and lots of abuse. Same size shafts as the Protos in a smaller model. But, of course, the Protos has far lower disk loading, so it's forgiveable.

Protos mainshaft is tougher than Align Trex 500 mainshaft.
