Bob, I've been building fast enough to catch up to your videos. I got all the way to step 33 before you posted your warnings. Having said that, I had little trouble installing my Hyperion 10 turn BECAUSE of three tips in your video. Even though my boom, belt, main gear, etc. were already installed, the tip about using the kitty corner mounting holes and the widest two holes on the Hyperion allowed fairly straightforward access to each with a simple Duratrax ball tip allen driver. I did remove the right side tail belt tensioning pulley as you suggested, very straightforward. You can then drop the pinion down after loosely tightening the two motor bolts. I came through the left side frame, at a 10 degree angle or so from the front with the 1.5mm allen for one grub screw on the pinion, then used a small flat blade screwdriver from the back (remember my tail servo is installed at this point) to hold the pinion up so that it's top is flush with the main gear, then tighten the pinion grub. Then locktight the second grub, install, then locktight the first. Then it was straightforward to set gear mesh and tighten, locktiting in sequence the two motor mount bolts. Then put tail pulley tensioner back. All done without disassembly (other than tail belt tensioner) in about 3 minutes. So if anyone got Bob's last warning too late, never fear, it can still be done.

Thanks FrittsLogic!

Good to hear it still can be done with the Hyperion motor.....

I will shoot more tonight and next up is servo install, then head and linkages.

Just posted step 24. There is a tip about the screws holding the outer balls onto the swash plate that I think is important! They stick out the back side and can possibly pop a link.

Hey Bob,

Will you be doing a Lepton video on the CCPM setup and getting rid of interaction?

Yep I saw all that.... Great idea by Stuka!

But it still wont help much setting the pinion backlash unles you swing it down and do trial and error adjustment. But for sure it helps getting the motor screws started and snugged up then swing the plate up and adjust the backlash.

Thanks, Bob, for these amazing videos. I could use them pretty much for my 3dx500.
