425 Basic kit frame and canopy

From what I can tell, the 425 Basic kit plastic frames and the 550 plastic frames are the same. Went to a couple of sites and the part #'s are the same.

If so, will the 550 canopy fit OK on the 425 Basic kit or will it need to be modified to make it fit.

The two are the same, the only difference between them are the boom, belt, push rod, paddles and blades. The 550 canopy will work depending on your batteries and how they are mounted.

I've just received a new glass Gaui canopy for my 425 and after fitting it in place I had to get the dremel out and increase the clearance for the two front swash pick off points to clear.

this is common, another way is to lengthen the canopy mounts. some use trex 600 standoffs for that. I use left over (cf) frame spacers to make them long and strong, lol
