Been testing the new firmware released by WKM, and I couldn't be happier, well almost.

Been playing with the gains and really have the stability kicked in on the Hexa. In moderate winds, 4 to 12 mph she hardly gets upset anymore.

The gimbal however, well, I have to face it, it's a piece of garbage. The problem is soon to get smaller, however, as WKM is soon to release new firmware, again, that addresses the gimbal control.
Part of the problem could very well be these cheap as hell from some obscure manufacturer I never heard of, servo's.
I'm seriously considering upgrading my servo's to Savox.
However, I digress. The gimbal control has improved, I think.

Quickly, the take off I accidentally did in normal mode, which is for stunt flying, no stabilization, which make things sporty. You can actually see when I change modes to gps after take off.
Got a good walking the street shot, an altitude shot and a look at my old airplanes rotting in the garage!

As for why I film the same damn thing over and over again, I'm sorry, this is about to change. I do it to compair apples to apples.
However, I am now confident enough in my set up to attempt different local's.

It's a scarry feeling having 7 1/2 pounds of flying mayhem up where it's hard to see. , the decision is made, I'm going to migrate my fpv back over to the Hexa.

Anyway, enjoy, tell me what you think!

249-CIB impressive, Tom !!!

The video is nearly perfect, not much to improve on. Minuscule jumpiness on the gimbals, could very well be servos. I don't think you need anything high performance there, just smooth. Have you tried good old SG-90s there?

Two questions:
  1. What are the settings on your GPH2 on this video?
  2. Since you have obviously and totally gone over to the dark side, would the renewed question about putting your lonely and abandoned helis up for adoption be really so much out of place?

Your humor kills me, buddy,,,,
,,, in your dreams.

I'll get back to them someday. Besides, what would you do with an fbl Avant? Stupid question.

I'm on 1080 30fps, 30fps, viewing angle is one down from the top, newest firmware.

Ragg's, we have had hardly any moisture at all with plenty of high 3 digit temps coupled with wind.
North of me is a huge forest fire that they have no intention putting out, let mother nature do it this winter.
My poor grass will have to wait.

The back yard is very nice, indeed. When the weather cools down I intend to install a gate so I don't have to jump the fence anymore.
I get some great sunsets back there, plan to catch a few.

got me the Drift HD , nice cam but not so good to film yourselv while flying attached to your head , the heli is allmost invisible , but was not bad onboard the Trex 500 , alittle shakey think from the vibs from the heli , might join Tom to the dark side and get me aQuadrocopter / Multicopter

Great vid ragge. I'm always amazed by the space you have to fly in. Wonderful flying site.

Very nice indeed, my friend! Particulary liked the inverted part. Threw it up on my big screen and watched in hd!

Jell-mount the camera next time, it will get rif of a lot of the jello.

A few adjustments later, and this vid is the result.
Don't think I can take it any closer until WKM's next firmware, that, and doing a few mechanical things.
However, this is pretty good for what I have, and can easily live with it.

Been toying with the idea of making my own gimbal. Might think about it this winter,,,

The whole craft flies in ground effect to increase the lift. No differentiation in the RPMs between the rotors. Stability is achieved by the higher flying rotor losing some of the lift by the virtue of weakening ground effect. Damn clever !!!

Pinguin, ol' buddy, where you are, I don't. I imagine goodluckbuy or somebody like that.
Are you thinking of getting one?
If so, unless you want waypoint at some time the Naza/gps combo would be the way to go.

Thank's Tom.
I really amaze on how stable it is. I know Naza is much better, but more money.
I have HK KK2.0 on order. Will see how it is perform.

This flight has pretty much convinced me that it is now time to transfer my fpv gear from my f450 over to the Hexa. I think I'm pretty happy now with it's behavior.
I know I'm happy with the performance of the fpv. Just hard to watch ntsc when everything you see now is blu-ray or hd. Can't beat the experience of it though.

Was getting ready to go to work, looked out and saw the wind was just huffing about and an interresting sky with a storm comming in form the south.
At the north end you will see a lot of what looks like haze, it's actually the smoke from the forest fire up north west about 80 miles, as the crow flys.

I know this is video progress report but i'll blame whoever put that morphing transitions video up, just pushing it a bit too hard lol...

Stripped all sorts of teeth, broken blades, undercarriage etc, front li-po somewhat shortened :L

Oops! Was it the morphing bit or the transitions bit that caused the problem? See you in the morning with the 450 maybe?

Edit. Just saw that long grass, where about's did it go in then? Not near the ditch?

Im off to the Isle of Wight tomorrow so hopefully Sunday morning? It was a transition, normal level flight flick into a half piro flip to inverted backwards flying the same direction. Looks good, should i say "looked" good lol.

Erm nope, was actually IN the ditch, completely disappeared!
