My Sonic rex, this was my first attempt at grahics for the canopy and I though sonic would be appropriate, fast, small blue, rolls, flips, etc...

Left side is best so far, right side I tried out markers and they did not work, I gotta learn some technique for paints or paint markers real soooooon.

Hehe - Thanks Hyde - my 1st attempt at masking and spraying. (I'm guessing you have a decent SLR - and of course nice natural light. I have had a CAnon 30D for a few months now. Superb bit of kit - lots to learn!)

Here's an in-flight pic.

My girls picked the color schemes and drew pictures and stuff on the canopy.

They think the Trex is very cool!!!

Hey Dodgey how the heck do you get those blades to track, I have a set and they are almost stirring paint, I have tried a million times to track them, but can never get it better than 10mm.

if you find turning the link that goes straight to the blade holder makes too much of a difference, then turn the link that goes from he same mixing arm down to the swash instead (inthe opposite direction you turn the upper link) - the longer link makes finer adjustments (I think - at least that's worked for me)

a 10mm difference is a lot though, and half a turn on the top link (maybe 1 turn) should easily bring it in within a mil or two.

Hey DDog, just looked again at your post with those 'Carnivore Canopies' , I noticed that the military copter version has some neat skids to match the 'used and abused' military hardware theme, nice attention to detail I thought.

Hey Rick, your Sexy Rexy looks so tidy and clean. A great example of precise minimilist design. Should be kept in a glass case!!!!!! Thanks too for the detailed close-up shots - it helps noobs like me a lot to be able to zoom in and see how a particulart equipment installation should/could be arranged.

Just a simple, clean paint scheme. Yellow fins and tail blades are gone now and replaced with Silver CF and black respectivly. Looks much nicer now

Thanks Rick. If I had kept it in the glass case it would still look that way. As it is, it is a bit battle scarred now but I wouldn't have it any other way. We've been havin a blast this summer.
