Only the black edition have metal gear and Yes you have to lube the metal gears only. I have the black delrin gears with my kit I then upgrade to the metal gears.

Below is my 700 with the metal gear upgrade also the heat resistance gear.

I've understood that you have all the gears in delrin but mine have only the main gear in delrin.

Peek is an interesting material its melting point is much higher than Delrin it is used in medical Aviation Aerospace Etc. I flew both materials in my Diabolo, I stayed with Delrin eventually as I don't speed or exteme fly at 2200, Delrin is also a little bit quieter, Its nice to have more robust options,The Delrin gear is quite robust but peek or metal is available for all you
Crazies out there lol, more on Peek here. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/PEEK

Metal gear are too much maintenance and messy. I only fly 2000 head speed with 13 degree pitch. So I do need it. I installed the stock delrin gears, heli is very smooth and quiet now.
