There is a Black Hawk 500 nitro that always seems to be sold out

No thanks, power to weight would be bad, and the disk loading would be huge. If it's smaller than a 30, it's better to leave it electric.

Nitro smells good but the sound? The sound of a nitro is one step up from fingernails on a chalkboard IMO.

Yep loading would STINK for sure....
a .33 or .37 is commonly used on a 30 sized nitro swinging 550mm blades. Other than blades size and boom length a 30 is pretty much the same size as a 50!

The 500 is using blades that are over 1000mm shorter (425mm). So this would be a heavy pig.

Over a year ago some guy nitro'ed a Trex450 and even sold a kit on Ebay for a while. That was a dog too...

.21's that are heli engines??? e.g. they have a LIGHT heli head on them? Car heads are usually heavier because they don't have a fan to cool them. It would be interesting to weigh it but I bet a .21 car engine is about the same weight as say a OS 32H

Q1 Would you happen to know where I could get some info on disc blade load ratios

Q2 Have you checked out the Blackhawk nitro ?
It is a 500 nitro with a .18 car engine

No and why:a) cleanness b) convenience(can fly everywere) c) no vibrations d) the sound of electric is close to a real turbine helicoptere.

In the near future,you will see big improvements of batteries(types).One day,a guy told me that a capacitor batteries are in developpement:5 min.charge,big capacity ect...D'ont be fooled,the avenir is everything except petroleum.
