Default Just got a wild hair up my,,,,

Remember back when, I got a Gaui 330xs?

Later, when it failed miserably, during my learning phase, I got a free f450 kit and transferred the gear over to it. Well, that didn't work out so well. Too heavy for the light weight gear.
After that I went to my current Hexa system.

Well, in a drunken stupor, I was sitting here wondering why I was waiting those nice Scorpoin motors.
Well, I just ordered an f330 frame to complete my desire to get all that gear back in the air.

Thinking I might even add an fpv camera to her and make her an exploratory ship. Something cheap that if I ditch it and can't find it, well it won't hurt so much.

I do have a spare 420 line fpv camera just laying about. She's not as nice as what I have on my Hexa, but what the hell, no sence letting it go to waist.

All I really need then is a vtx.
As the one on my Hexa is 200mw, think I'll upgrade it to a 600mw an use it on the Hexa instead.
WKM now supports a maximum distance and ceiling to fly in, so I can set that to about 3/4 mile and not worry about getting out of radio range.

The current flight controllers I have for the f330 are my standard Gaui pos and my Fy91q pos.
I'll probably try out the fy91q first, but I'm seriously thinking of just going with a KK2 board instead. Nice and cheap, plus they have come a long way the last year.
Wouldn't mind learning some 3d flying with her, especially under the goggles.

So, that's the plan.

I blame Sutty for all this mess!!!

I thought it would be Dayshaddows fault for pointing out why you need 2 FPV multirotors

Hehehe, I know what you feel Tom

Have ordered over a week ago HK knockoff of F450 frame (it's called Q450), motors (same as on my hexa, $19 380W HK AX2810s, I'm really happy with them), ESCs and a new 600mW VTx (250mW version that came with the goggles will go on the truck).

As I buy most of the things double, I already have a spare 520 lines camera, mount, Naza-M and cheap HK G-OSD set, so I decided to build a less expensive quad for fpv practice; the hexa just feels too big and expensive to let it rip , it's a camera ship.

This quad will be strictly for fpv fun, same range, less weight, less $, no stabilized gimbals or video recording capability. I think I'll implement head tracking on it, too, all I need is to make a cable to connect goggles to my radio and do some programming.

On the hexa I decided head tracking made no sense, as the fpv camera needs to be roughly synchronized with Gopro so I know what the Gopro is pointing at. That's why I have implemented only the tilt (both cameras tilt up and down together) and it's on the lever on my Tx, I'm quite happy with the results, the lever is a perfect solution: during the video recording too much movement of the camera is a big no-no.

Good grief. What have I done to deserve this, I haven't spent a penny, yet!

I'm just planning, I can't help it if you go rushing in, lol. And anyway my interest in FPV is all your fault to begin with Tom.

Cheers

Sutty

I know. He's the worst. And whatever disorder he has seems to be contagious, too

BTW, no Jack around to report him to, I'm afraid. Hasn't answered an PMs since last year, I fear for the worst and include him in an occasional prayer

Hey,now wait one damn minute here! Let me get this straight.
Somehow now all of this is my fault?!!!

Not only that, but the only sympathy I get is from Jerry?!!!

Absolutely unbelievable!

I'll have you all know my mother always said I was an angel!

No Andrew, I'm afraid you are just a bad influence. Luke and Denis have nothing on you, that's a fact, my friend!

Now Jerry, on the other hand, is in an entirely different category, I'm afraid.
I'll have you know, Jerry, that if the truth be told it is you that has suffered the most in Jack's absence, ( I miss him too. He's always in my prayers )!

Talk about impressive, though.
My order with FPVModel, for the new vtx, has already shipped! Considering they are in China, that just blew me away!

Likewise with regard to Jack.

However, back to the subject at hand, me thinks thou protest too much.

The guilty ones tend to protest their innocence the most, a phenomenon well known in the penal system

And listening to the sarcasm of their friends!

As Bart Simpson says, " I'm innocent,,, and you don't have a witness!"
