Nicely put Kenneth.
Thanks for the investigation!!. I'm Flying A123 at the moment, and I guess that I’m one of those that want to invest in a 6S lipo solution. Thinking about an airthunder 5000 6s pack. That should give me some reasonable flight times. Hope that one will fit. But from what I notice seeing the picture: The lipo is right in the middle of the frame .. Wouldn’t the heli be tail heavy? Right now with the 7s A123 sticking out from the front the balance is o.k. So IMO the hurri needs quite a bit of "nose" weight to get the CG right. I hope I'm wrong about that, because I really like the idea to have the "root canal without anesthesia pain" expensive lipo to be within the frame I love the looks of the frame !! I hope they will be available soon !!. Maurice |

I just took time to 'stack' two of my HXT 2300MaH 5S packs and it looks like my initial thoughts were wrong.
Whilst the 'main' part of the pack is just low enough (measuring the cell stack) the end where the cells connect and the power cables come out is slighly taller... so you end up needing 53 to 54 mm. The battery bay is wide enough but not tall enough. |

Thanks for looking at it Charley. If you can manage to make it 56mm tall and if it is feasible to use washers/spacers to add 3mm to the width to get to 52mm then that opens up more options, including the possibility of A123 shotgun packs (standing on edge or at an angle) or A123 triangle packs as well as a greater range of lipo combinations. Still won' t help the folks flying 2 x 3s 2200 AT though which would need 60+mm

If you can get the battery bay taller Charlie then I'll be hanging on your web site...56mm would be just fine.

OK Guys,
This is what I was able to achieve 54mm in height complete. If you were to remove the base tray you gain almost another 2mm and for those who would like to run A123 in triangle packs you can also remove the upper tray for an additional 1.5mm for a total of 57.5mm in height I will have pics later on of my ready to fly heli Charley

Charley,
I really do like that blue frame and sort of hoping that will be your de-facto standard. It just looks cool and not like the others. Makes it stand out in the crowd. Carl |

Well... I hope to have some kits Soon generally it will take 2-3 weeks to get all the CNC Parts.
Soo Yes I really hope way before Christmas. The blue with silver is done by me the base color of those frames is like a cream color so I painted them does look cool I think I will do neon stuff with a pattern next

I dont really know, I dont know too much about these 500 sized helis... I just dont like the hurry canopy, because the entire canopy just looks like its pointing down. Maybe a logo 500 canopy if it fits?

BTW, just to clarify, the H550 is not a 500 size heli, it is 30-size. The naming is confusing but works something like this: 400/450-class = 300-350mm blades, under 1kg (eg TRex450, DragonusII, miniTitan e325, Diablo, Blade400 etc) 500-class = 400-450mm blades, under 2kg (eg Lepton, QJ-EP8, HDX500, RCT-500, Dragonus500, TRex500 etc) 30-size = ~500mm blades, under 3kg (eg Swift, Logo10/500, eRaptor550, Hurricane550 etc) 50-size = ~600mm blades, under 4kg (eg TRex600, Logo14/600, eRaptor620 etc) 90-size = ~700mm blades (eg TRex700)

I don't want to take this thread off-topic. All I know is that it is in the works and rumoured to be due out before Christmas.
