Thankyou for the video,as a member of the old farts club I prefer to watch something rather than try and do it from the web site.
Thanks again, Roy

Glad to help...

I'm a bona fide Old Fart myself; the longer I stay in this hobby, the bigger and yellower my airplanes get...

Hi.
Can you suggest where I can get a cable to connect my computer to devo tranny ,or perhaps an item code/number. I want to try and use the deviation software.

Which TX?

IIRC, all the newer Devention Family of TX use a standard Mini-USB cable that you probably have lying around. Then it's just a matter of downloading & installing the Walkera dFusE firmware update tool, and downloading the Deviation firmware and libraries from Deviation.

mnem
More cow.

Yes, my Devo 8s uses the standard mini USB plug.

As shown on the Walkera site here:

http://www.walkera.com/en/showgoods.php?id=451

the Devo 7E does in fact use a common Mini-USB cord available pretty much anywhere.

One word of warning; there's a reason the 7E is much cheaper than its brethren. It is designed with a 1/10th power TX module which is intended ONLY for indoor use. Even as a ParkFly TX its range is questionable.

There IS a hack to increase the power to almost full-range output; but it's DEFINITELY a Dilbert-level hack (as in, not recommended unless you're a Dilbert) and your questions so far indicate that probably isn't you.

Don't flown larger plane/heli with your Devo7E its only 10mhz instead of 100mhz but it consume battery like 100mhz controller. I experiment 2 or 3 lost of control with it only my throttle hold switch was working by chance.
Still a good transmitter much better than dx4 or lspm4 blade shit

8S and 12S are good

Dalid means 10mW vs 100mW power output, which is what I was talking about.

Don't... just DON'T.

But don't worry if you already have this transmitter it does exist a very simple mod for the 7E, by removing something inside of it gonna became 100mW full range transmitter.

If the Devo 8s is not to your liking or budget the Devo 10 is full size and full range and deviation compatible too. I love mine.

Ummm... yeah.

Like I said, not a project for the uninitiated. Be VERY careful; there have been a number of readers who've turned their 7Es into a doorstop using Daryoon's hack. Not because he documented it poorly; quite the opposite. He has documented it very well, and it LOOKS easy. It is NOT.

I do this stuff for a living; it's second nature to me. MOST people don't have 30 years of micro-soldering experience. You are messing about in the RF amplifier's power section; any accidental solder blob can short out the radio and release the magic smoke.

This is NOT a project for folks who don't already know their way around a printed circuit board and have a fair bit of soldering skillz.

I'll probly skip it. I have looked inside and know all the wonders of magic smoke. Way to tiny for me. I can fly far enough till I get the devo 10.
