Default Flymentor

Hi, I've got the flymentor control box hooked up, Servos going the right way .But the Flymentor box is getting hot.. I haven't hooked up the gyro & the camera yet, could that be causing the control box to get hot? I'm trying to use the HH control box but don't really understand it.

Never heard of hooking up the FM without its components but can't tell you whether that is the reason for getting hot. First hook the whole system up and see. The behavior of FM without its components renders control off and is not relevant.

If the box still gets hot then check whether the servos are connected correctly, it may be that you FM is toast.

I have trouble trying to use the HH box. I can't find a write up on it on the web

I don't believe HK are that forthcoming with customer support but you are welcome to try. I believe that your unit is faulty after what you wrote as they are not suppose to overheat at all.

I Got an RMA from the USA warehouse, so will see what happens. It's no good the way it is now. Let me know if you Know of any instructions on the web for the Hand Held set up box.
Thanks

Sorry, never used it as I hook mine to my computer. You should study the manual first for the menus offered then I think using the HH very similar. Basically it involves navigating to a menu then an item and finally a value.

Just received E-mail from Hobby King saying my unit was bad and will be replaced . Pretty fast service for HK, less than 2 weeks since I sent it back. Now have to wait for the slow boat from China

Good show, just be aware of the polarity of connectors when plugging in to the controller when you next install it.

As Pril250 has said be carful with polarity. The damage you describe can be cause by connecting the servos incorrectly. The negative wire should be on the outside.

Thanks Guys, When I get the unit back I'll be more carful to make sure I wire it right, can't remember how I did it before. I setup one a few years ago but at my age (86) my memory doesn't always work like it used to.

Hi, Got my new Flymentor back from HK China 08/01/14, Just over two weeks since I sent it in to be replaced. VERY FAST service from HK. I have decided to go FBL instead of using the Flymentor, So it's for sale with the Hand Held Program Box. I'm asking $85.00 shipped for the two.
Thanks to everybody for your help.
