Default Stretch on 3S, yes or no?

Been waiting a bit on a good deal for 360mm blades and the time has arrived. I could stretch one of my mini's for E 35,- shipped.

Only have 3s2200 packs and the new Graphenes seem to really pack a punch the whole flight and should keep me happy on 3S for a while.

So......should i stretch my current setup with the 16T pinion or will i be disappointed compared to the speed of the stock mini?

Not sure what i'm looking for...perhaps just to justify the duplicate miniP i have doing nothing at the moment.

I'm not sure that it would work well on 3S - I have had my 325 bladed M-P for ages on 3S and always used to run at about 3,100 HS. I then picked up a 6S stretched M-P (using 350 Zeals) and was wowed with how much more "pop" it has on the collective. So I had to increase the HS on the 325 M-P to try and get similar "pop" - with a 16T pinion and about 3,200 - 3,300 HS it is pretty good but still nowhere near as sharp on the collective.

However I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be getting the same punch (without bogging) on 3S - I think that you need at least 4S for a stretch and better 5S or 6S.

Perhaps some others have more direct experience ....

It will work but will not be very efficient. Will build up more heat and bon more. If you smack and fly in a hot climate go for 6s. If just flying sport you should be ok

Sport flying is ok but I'm still converting to 6s on mine. Was good on 350's but when I thumped it and went with 360's on the repair it started bogging more and I decided to make the switch to 6s.

Thanks guy's! Seems the Rotorstar 360mm that is on sale is a bit too much for my heli. it's actually more than 360mm from bolt hole to tip. Not ready to switch to 6S as i have around 14 flyable packs now.

On the stock mini i already run the bigger 335mm cheap FG blades from HK, or the pro3D carbons. Actual size is 330. i like them over all the other 325mm blades i have. More pop indeed and better sound

Yeah - I went to the 325 Aligns from some 325 Aligns ( newer style - the blue ones) and they were longer than the older versions - a bit more oomph

I would steer clear of blades bigger than 360mm on the Mini P, 360mm is already pushing the limits on the Mini, as it is you need to pull the tail as far back as the slots in the front tail box will allow.

Agreed. Even doing that, when I run 62mm tails and 360s I can get the blades to touch. 350s are best, and I was flying the Zeal, but the blade is so much heavier than the Align 360mm, I really feel a difference in flight. Back to the search for the perfect blade, that won't double my crash cost

I have Halo main 360/tail 62 and yes I can also get the blades to touch but I have to put enough effort into it that makes me highly doubt that it could happen in flight, especially with my rigid Lynx aluminum head. With the stock plastic blade grips, I would be more cautious

I've only run 360/60 max (currently 353/62), but it was fine even with stock plastic grips. I did use the rigid lynx dampeners though, and they most likely help.

I have had 0 issues with RJX 360s and kbdd 61mm tails on stock grips and dampers. They are on the heavy side so maybe a lighter, more responsive blade would hit.

I run the align 360mm. I can get them to touch but not in flight. lord knows ive tried. With my first minip i flew the edge 353 which imo is the best blade for the minip. plenty of pop and still stable. little pricey for the edge?switch blades though. All that being said I really like the align 360 blades.
