I went tail boom first into the sidewalk yesterday shattering the boom so today I went to my lhs and got a new stock boom plus some 2mm cf rods. Took the shattered boom out and used the new cf rod to replace the broken boom. Put the new stock boom in the heli and will fly it tomorrow after the glue sets. Got the solid rod boom as a spare for the next time and then I'll do the same to it. That way I always got a spare boom ready to go and the cf rods are inexpensive.

Same thing I do everyday...break it. I really need to get a sim. I just get too antsy and try things that ought to be first attempted in the virtual world.

On a positive note, I did manage to complete 2 backward flips. Took me 40ft of vertical atmosphere to accomplish, but what a trip. I subsequently augered into the ground on my third attempt, driving my tail boom right through the elevator servo. Now that takes some real talent.

After 15 hours of flying I decided to clean the servos and lube the bearings. One servo was really really dirty and the other two weren't.

I balance my blade

I reroute the tail motor wire, using shrink wrap instead of wrap it on
the tail boom. That should reduce the chance of shorting during a crash.

Just came in from flying a few packs. Been practicing aileron rolls-to-inverted at 2-3ft off the deck...gettin' pretty good at it. I'll have the wife shoot some vid later and post it up.
