I have one on the way as well. I may just get this in the air before snow flies yet.

The new pipe came today. I had to do a bit of customizing on the NX frames to get it on. Nothing major. A dremel and about a minute's worth of work. Trimmed out the canopy a bit and all is well. The hardest thing was peeling the sticker off the box so I could use it.

Nice looking machine work.
Who does the machining for you or is it in-house?

98% of all KME engines are made right in our factory in California.

Thanks for the compliment.

Well, I wasn't really asking where they were made but rather where the machining was done.

How about a 26cc gasser for the Radikal 20? You know, just in case you're getting too much free time on you hands. It's good to see a US company joining the market and not farming their production out to China.

I'm just curious. Can I break in this motor with 15% nitro Rapicon fuel, and then later run in on 30% Cool power without adding another Head Gasket, like i did on OS.

Yes you can, but it will not give you the performance your looking for. But for break in no problem.

I know that the 15% wont give me the max preformance, but i'm concerned if it will give me max preformance when i swich to 30%

The break in just allows the engine to get the rod bushings to match and seat the piston ring.
It should not matter what fuel you use. After the break in period if you use 30% you will feel a difference in performance using the 30% rather than 15%

Ok, then i shall break in with 30%, dont want to have this motor and screw it up because of a gallon of fuel.

The barrel retaining slot on my KME carb has a rough edge where it appears to be an interface between two cuts to form the angular slot. It was rough enough that the carb felt "notchy" opening, and closing by hand, and the retaining guide/screw was starting to show early signs of wear.

I used a small needle file to take the edge off, and used some fine emery paper to finish smoothing it out. Seems like the material under the original exterior is softer, as if the barrel is hard anodized, and I've exposed some raw, softer metal. Was this a bad thing to do?

One other minor thing is that I always make a gasket to go between the motor and pipe of my helis, but I'm running low on the ancient Perfect brand gasket material I have at hand. Any chance you guys could make gaskets available for your muffler/engine? Barring that possibility, any suggestion as to what, and where to find an appropriate material to make my own?

BTW, this motor and pipe combo runs as strong as it is beautiful in appearance. Awesome job guys, it's very cool to see a world class heli product manufactured in the States!
