Default Press Release! ReadyHeli.com!!

Hope this helps us in the US!

Press Release
For Immediate Release
August 7, 2008

MIKADO Modellhubschrauber Appoints Exclusive USA Retailer.

(Potsdam, Germany)
Mikado Model Helicopters, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of radio-controlled model helicopters, has appointed Ready Heli (www.readyheli.com) as exclusive retailer for the US Market. Ready Heli is a well-respected retailer specializing in radio-controlled model helicopters.

The appointment is part of a restructure of Mikado’s reseller business model. With changing economic conditions, rising operational costs and recent developments in the model industry, Mikado’s goals could no longer be met with the previous business model. In the past five years Aero-Model, Inc. has supported the Mikado brand by selling it to several dealers troughout North America. We would like to express our great appreciation to all and any business partners that were part of the enterprise to get our products to the American customer. We realize that the cut we are making may look and feel radical. We’d like to emphasize that the reason for doing this is to ensure future success of our brand in the North American market, which is what we must have in mind as the company owners. The decision was made after much investigation and considering all of our options carefully. We will strive to make the transition period as comfortable as possible for all involved parties. We wish to allow the dealers some time to speak to us about their current stock. In parallel we will be stocking Ready Heli to get them ready for servicing our customers’ needs.

Hi All,

That's awesome. I get 90% of my mail order from ReadyHeli and the shipment always takes only two days. Plus they have a great website.

But I'm concerned about the transition. I need some parts now and I'm wondering who I should order from? Maybe I should just wait until RH is up and running.

I bet this means we can expect lower prices as well! Right...

Keep 'em flying.

Is the existing support in NA for Mikado that bad? The logo 500 (was) on my list for a larger electric.

I wouldn't want a heli with only one choice for parts in the US. If they're out of stock you get to wait, and also pay whatever price they come up with. Free stickers, candy and such notwithstanding.

I had always gotten great support from espritmodel and am worried that I won't be able to get parts from them anymore. They are local to me so if I need something I just drive 25 minutes and get it. Not to mention they have helped me a lot in the past with set ups and things. Now I will have to order everything. I see no advantage for me unless there is a price drop. I am pretty bummed about this. Why are you all so happy? I'm confused.

Does this mean prices of parts will go down? Only thing holding me back from a logo 500 is that damn $70 plastic canopy.

Hey Nice Guy,

Well, if Esprit is local for you, then you're in an entirely different boat.

But for me, ReadyHeli always gets the shipment to me in two days, that's at least two days faster than Esprit. And I can get my shipment by USPS Priority Mail which costs about half as much. Plus ReadyHeli has a better website.

For me, the shipping is the most important. Two day shipping with cheap postage is almost as good as having it locally.

Keep 'em flying.

I don't think it was bad but ReadyHeli is just awesome at getting parts out. I've never waited more than 2 days to get anything from Readyheli.

All we need now is the Logo400 Vbar to show up and I'll be in heli-heaven

Going with RH is probably the only way that the Logo 400 will get the exposure it needs to succeed. Hmmm, if the price is right it might drop into my shopping cart also.

I like RH as much as the next guy, spent probably thousands there over the last 1.5 years. But having one sole source is never good in a market economy. I simply can't understand the logic, other than it sounds like they are taking out the middle-man (aero-model) so there is one less layer of profit making.

Select two or three delers to import the product directly, so there is still at least the illusion of competition...

I agree ready heli is one of the best. What concerns me is if they are the exclusive dealer will they always have all the parts in stock. There are a few dealers that have supported Mikado for a long time. What about them?

Hi Fogger,

You make a good point about a single supplier.

But look at what we had when we had multiple suppliers. Esprit would take four days or more to get me a delivery. FXaeromodels is currently shut down for over a week. And when I was missing a part on my Logo 500 3D kit, Aeromodel took over a week to get me a replacement. Not to mention how hard it was to find a part on their websites. Without the manual I was lost.

RH changes the whole situation with parts being just two days away and with having a website that's truly usable.

I've got to think that we are going to end up saving money due to the elimination of the distributor. Maybe it won't come as price reductions. But we may avert some price increases.

And like someone said, we will now have the possibility of one stop shopping. And that means less postage and greater convenience.

True, Mikado and RH could screw things up. But I think it's more likely that we'll be better off.

Keep 'em flying.
