hello guys !

While mounting the 4020, did you manage to screw the 4 screw with the original aluminium mounting plate?
I can only get 2 screws to fit right and i'm scared it's not enought...

I've seen a Logo 600 with an additional metal part for the third screw. The mount was holding a motor for a 10s configuration and the pilot wanted to be on the safe side.

I currently run a Medusa 1100kv (36-50) on 6s 5000ma Zippy pack on my Logo 500, still currently woody blades (520mm from my old swift) I can do basic 3D but by no means can I bang it around. I am looking at the scorpion motor but I want to be sure it is not to much for my 80amp Castle Creation and 6s Zippy pack. In the current setup I get 12 min or so of basic 3d/flying around (putting 3200ma back in the packs I was getting 7 min on 7s A123 putting 1800 back in those). I know I want to pick up a set of carbons this year and a new motor, I dont want to break the bank though. I have the protos now and it makes my Logo 500 with a 1950 head spead (18 tooth pinion) look like a pig in the air lol. I have been flying for three years now and want to push it a little harder this year. The medusa has been great but I know im over working it, I also dont wanna buy a motor that is more than my current abilites/setup can handle. I was thinking of pairing this with 503 BBT manic blades

Shawn & the group,

I just came across this thread. I'm still reading the entire thread but I've now crossed the Hacker turbine off my list (not that it's a bad motor).

Woooooooooo, fwiw no motor I had prior really came clost to the power this one has to be honest, the Zpower was close though for sure. This motor has heaps more than the new Hacker Turbines, I mean heaps.

Shawn,

If the Scorpion 4020-1100 was just under the power of your Z-Power 1150 (which I think is the same as my Tonic-X 1110) then maybe I should just try my Tonic-X first?

It seems to have the NEU pull, if that makes sense, right down to my timer the power didn't seem to fade off. The motor was only 36 degrees on landing. Mind you it was a cool day at only 15 degrees C out but still, I ran a few packs back to back and the motor never exceeded that temp. I will have some FDR and other data soon I hope. I really like this motor so far it has been my favourite. I am running 16 tooth at 75% idle one and 80% idle 2 on Jive 100+LV.

Stay tuned..so far so good!

The motor I had was a limited run Zpower 1150 Black top which was a Z50A class motor. The Z1110 you have is an Z30A class, a good chunk smaller then the Zpower motor I was referring to. You could try it though, no harm in that.

No, I think I'll just keep the Z1110 in the Raptor to sell. Thanks.

Now I'm waiting for LJS to put that Xera in his L500 and fly it on 6s.

I am thinking about going with the Scorp now but I still don't know how it handles high ambient temps? It averages 95 degrees here for most of the summer.

During the summer months 90-100 degrees, I can always rely on the Z motors to run cool, my ,Z15, Z20 and Z30 was the best motor during hot days. If the Scorpion run cool that would be great, otherwise I cant use them as the bearing will go sooner than expected. Scorpion 4020 on a 600 seems a bit too much blade?

Yes on a 600mm blade machine, perfectly fine on 560 or under. The 4025 was created for 600mm bladed machine on 6S for the heavy 600 rex, or for plain out silly power on a 5003D etc....The 4020 series on the Logo 5003D really has a ton of grunt though, truly it does.
