Yes it is but I figured the 480 being much smaller it should cost a bit less.

Ya it would look cool but the 480 is a crashable/beater size so no fancy stuff.

I know somebody that has crashed one twice, and if you are looking for a crasher, I'd suggest something else...both times were expensive. In fact, more expensive as a crash with my Gaui X5, which is larger.

As for the boom thing, I do think it would be nice for those that like the Goblin look, but it also costs extra money if you crash it

I personally HATE the "Goblin look". Mikado is following and not innovating. The only reason I can see for them to follow the crowd was for the money. I can understand the money thing. I will never buy one though.

For the record that is not a Mikado product. It is made by helicopter in Berlin, not Mikado. We got them in because people like them )

Ron Thomas is correct. The boom covers are an after-market product produced by http://www.heli-center-berlin.de/ - They also produced Mikado's 500 Hughes, the Uvular bodies & full carbon fiber landing skids.

The mentioned product has no affiliation to Mikado Germany.

To the original post, we'll see if 480 covers are potentially in the works

I guess there are those out there that like the look. The best part about this hobby is having options. I love (and I mean LOVE) the Logo Xxtreme look. I guess that's why I have them all. Seeing the Goblin style look on them just turns my stomach. But if you like then by all means buy one.

So you are saying there is a chance whoo hoo! Perhaps a few more 480 Canopys too, including a solid white one?

After speaking with Heli Center Berlin, they indeed are in the process of making boom covers for the Logo 480, as well as some aftermarket canopies!

Default 480 boom cover

Yeah they do look very cool, but I'm more worried about weight than looks... Anyone know the weight difference between the boom cover versus the stock struts/clamp/horizontal fin on the 700? I assume it's significant, but I'm open minded. Might could estimate the percentage of weight increase we can expect on the 480. Small differences will be noticeable on the 480, whereas one might not notice on the 700..

Not to shoot it down or anything of course... Weight isn't everything to everyone and we all have preferences... Just curious, as I'm all about improving visibility, and if the weight difference were really small.... I might be persuaded ;-)
