They made holidays for a week so it may take a little bit longer to get a confirmation...

I probably have to cancel my order, so at least someone will get his kit earlier.
Are you sure on the motor John? From what I read the Scorpion is less efficient, but just as powerfull. I suspect that the power that it pulls more then the Pyro is transferred to heat instead of usable power. 2 of the Dutch pilots that where sponsored by Scorpion replaced their motors and controllers by Kontronik stuff.

I'll vid showing fitting of both motors but inititially I'll use the Kontronik - lot of pinion grinding needed to fit the Scorpion

John,
I recall seeing a post in another forum that you were hoping to go to Ihobby next weekend. Will you be attending? I am 1 1/2 hr drive from Chicago, but not sure which day I'm going yet. |

Got one also :D
I got my Rigid on Monday.
I managed to finish it but given that it rained here the last 4 days I didn`t get to fly it I have the normal pyro and it`s shaft lenght is perfect for the counterbearging. So the normal shaft is perfect. The long shaft would be way to long for the Rigid. The pinion is EXTREMLY close to the motor. Can`t wait to fly it

I ordered my Pyro from Readyheli and there was no option as to shaft length - the one supplied has ~20mm shaft with flat ground and fits the counter bearing perfectly.
THe build has got ahead of the build vids (each one takes ~ 4hrs to render at full frame size) so got to maiden her on Tuesday (in a TS!) and got a couple of flights in yesterday in much nicer weather !! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWZwqLGtLdc

WOW!!! That seams just solid!!!....Rigid you might say!
But how does it compare to a "normal" heli??? I mean, is it really like going from a GM to a Ferrari? Can you really feel that much of a difference??? Tks for all the effort!!! WE ARE LOVING THIS!!!!

WOW!! That was a nice set of flips at the end! Very clean design although I am curious to see how well the unconventional landing gear struts hold up. Doesn't look like you're lacking in power for Pitch!! Great build videos!

Here we go - tail assembly - pretty straightforward - elegant, simple, tough design. The TT is a steel rod - pretty heavy - supported by three bearings ready mounted in an 920mm x 25mm ali boom.
The tail is a bit unusual in that the rotor blades go contrary to most common practice ie clockwise rather than anticlockwise viewed end-on. Got my tail gearbox upside down in some of the video so just make sure your tail spindle shaft pokes out the opposite side to the mounting holes for the vertical fin - I do mention this but couldn't be to breakdown the whole assembly and re-film In flight the tail quite sensitive to gyro gain - too little and it wags to much and it hunts - the sweet spot is very much HS sensitive and critical to within ~4% - I'll detail my flight settings later TDR6 - Tail assembly - wmv 82mb
