My understanding is 36V will remove generator pulsing due to avoiding the buck/boost transition, but nothing more (in terms of max power you can actually draw from the generator, for instance).
The EU2000i does, in fact, have a 1600VA continuous rating (1600W, if a 1.0 power factor). It will do 2000VA for up to 30 minutes, but that's really an overloaded condition. The Yamaha 2000 is the same 1600VA continuous, as is the Champion 2000, I think.

PL8 Pulse charging
The highest I have done on my eu20i is 30A 6S plus 30A 7S.
30A + 33A @ 27.0V was displayed on the pl8's This is with a mean well 2000W(240V). Mean well is rated for 89% pfc. So I had 63A x 27V = 1701W x 1.11 = 1888W from the Honda, this was sustained for 8mins during the peak of the charges.

I there any electronic component that can be put inline with power supplies wired in series that can drop 2 volts and handle 30amps? I am seeing this pulsing on my charger but I don't have a way to change the output voltage on my power supplies. I also use two batteries in series at the field and would need something to drop a volt or two for these as well.

You can use one or two "stud diodes". These are large diodes that can handle large amounts of current. The forward voltage drop varies by product. Check the specs. You can get them from ebay, or an electronics shop like http://www.mouser.com or digikey.
Which supply do you have? There may be a way to tweak it.
