500 and hitec 225mgs
Does anyone know if the hitec 225 mg servo will fit without any modification on the
t-rex 500? |

They fit, but you have to use the spacers. So depending on your definition of modification... Yes or No . They are the same as the 5245MGs, just not digital. They work great, but there have been issues with the case top cracking on a crash, but there was a modification to the case that is supposed to help with that (any new ones you buy will be the new design). I didn't break the top case, but I ended up breaking all of the tabs on the cases which required a case replacement. I think this is due to the need of the spacers because they don't fit "just right". Luckily the cases are able to be bought and pretty cheap.

They come in the kit with the 500. If you look in the manual that comes with the 500, there is a section that shows installing the 5245MGs, which shows the spacers in use. Use that section as the 225MGs are the same case as the 5245MGs.

Thanks. I just purchased a 500 esp as a complete set minus the servos since I have
the 225 mgs already. This is my second heli. My first is the 450 sport which I absolutely love. I hope the 500 is just as good if not better than the 450. |

I've had three crashes, 2 major and one minor ,Im using 225mg with the plastic arms supplied from align totally stock head, no probs with cracked servos.
From what i gather if you are using metal head, metal servo arms, something has to give in a crash and the servo case is the next weakest link this is not from experience, just my thoughts from reading other posts. |
