Default So, how does it fly?

Is everybody who's building one of these live in the frozen tundra?

Has anybody wrung it out and lived to tell the tale? Anybody toasted a little, tiny 1-way?

I don't anticipate buying another 450, but I'm curious how people like it, esp. compared to the obvious contenders, 450 Pro, Rave, etc.

One of my friends has it and says the Trex 450 sport and pro are alot better. The belt hogs alot of power

Wierd, I think the opposite but hey its good to have opinions!!!

My 450 Pro was ok, sure it was abit more free so that is correct, but I dont care I dont auto 450s nor care about that anyhow. On a direct comparison from same motor to same motor and Headspeed there is no noticeable difference in flight for power, now doing an FDR may show that due to drag there is some loss, I believe that but in flight with same gearing, motor I doubt many would notice.

Other note is and I can only say from the FBL perspective is the Mini Toast IMO flies better then my 450 Pro did for sure.

Tell your friend to set the belt looser, there is no need to have it very tight on the mini.

Thanks, Shawn. Can you elaborate?

1.) MUCH Quieter, yes that does not help flight but sure is nice
2.) Tail is much better, more solid feeling for sure
3.) Head Geometry is good, as is dampening, no odd tendacies in flight that were abit of pain to tweak out on my 450 Rexes and teh Rave, Rave was worst actually
4.) Solid head construction overall helps this little one IMO, again in super fast hard stops or transitions, it flows like larger helis.

Again not associated with MSH in a single way so being as honest as can, I didn't mind the 450 Pro, I just feel this is a better flying heli. How will it hold up in crash? I don't know but I buy & fly helis for how they fly not anything else really.

+1 And if you do crash, parts look dirt cheap. For example, I love that the mini grips cost a fraction of the 450 grips. Everytime I've crashed my 450 it needs most of the gears replaced too. I've had to replace only the main gear, and just once in 35 crashes, on my Protos 500. In addition, I really don't see the point with all the CNC parts everywhere today, as the Protos and Logos do just fine with good plastics and a bit of solid engineering. I'll definitelty be shelving my 450 soon.
