The satellite should be fine as long as you mount them correctly
If u want to use a full RX just get the zyx not the -s
I like the -s because it would be less wires But it's too late for me
What's sIze is your heli also if u are using a DX6i you might have do the full RX setup
If it's anything like the 3gx the gain is map throught channel 7

Well, you are ahead. I found this out after I have bought the satellite and spend hours trying to get it to work

Default Zyx-S with satellite & for Quads

If you want to use the satellite with the Zyx-S then you need to bind your radio (Dx6i works fine) with a full Rx with the satellite plugged into it, then remove the satellite from the full Rx and plug it into the Zyx-S with the special cable that you have to buy separately.

Also the Zyx-S can control planes and quadcopters as well, so they are well worth the extra couple of bucks.

Sory but I'm struggling to undersatnd!

The ZYX is a FBL gyro system, OK?

The ZYX-S is a FBL system with built in RX? - Like a V Bar?

I was going to ask the same question as the OP. I have a new ZYX on my 450 PRO and just can't praise it enough. It has no Sattelite socket so will be a ZYX, right?

If I bought a ZYX-S, I wouldn't need a receiver as well?

Thanks, Dave

The -S version can accommodate a satellite RX via a special lead that plugs into one of the normal RX leads on the unit. It does NOT have any RX built in. You can still use a standard RX with it as well. Supports aircraft and quad copters.

or normal RX

Support aircraft and quads

The standard version can only be connected to an external RX via the fly leads. Only supports helicopters.

Vinger,
Which software are your screenshots from?
I downloaded the latest stable version from http://fbl.net.nz but it doesn't have the plank and quad stuff in it.
Thanks.

Looks interesting - are these gyros performing well?

Sorry to hijack - I was literally just thinking about getting one of these units for a junk 450.

All you would ever want to know about these systems is referenced in the first post of this thread:

Sorry, I know there's a lot of reading to do, but I can't think of any other way to convey this huge mass of information.

The ZYX-S can use either a full radio or just a satellite and can also do quads as well.
