Default New scorpion motor owner question

I've never owned a Scorpion motor. I have a new to me but also new, goblin 570 with a scorpion. The batt and ESC. Come down cool and the same temp. The scorpion comes down pretty hot.

I was just doing light FF in Gov mode 1. It came down hot to the touch. Hardly could keep my fingers on it. I have about 50 flights on her.

What's your take?

How hot is hot?

60c* feels hot when touching, but is not a problem at all :-)

I don't have a temp gun, and I'm not sure to how tell without one. What I find odd is my battery and ESC are barley warm.

Thats a good sign, if motor/lipo is not warm

the scorpion motor run arround 50-60c* in most applications. And that can feel a bit hot when touch. But no need to worry

I just realized. I've owned and flown it for 1 week. I had been flying in normal mode. Now I'm always in flight mode 1. Maybe that's why she's hotter.
I flew my first pack today and did a hard roll and the blades farted louder than I've ever heard. When she landed the edge 130 had a voltage cutoff beep tone. So I've been monitoring it since. I flew another pack with just light flips and FF with no errors. Just a hot motor

My bad, it was an over current error the ESC gave today. I think it has something to do with the hot motor?

Have you looked at the Castle data logs? Also, what's your Current Limiting set to? (on the Cutoffs tab in the Castle software). Info from these will help provide details of your overcurrent indication

Hey guys. It has the stock 21 tooth pinion, 2200rpm in idle up 1. Motor is 1100kv on 6s.

Dumb question:, the over current draw, would that b from my RX pack or from the main pack?

Ok, I'm going to check the logs in the morning. It will be my first time.

When I try to check the usb link is green in the software. When I power the same ESC up nothing happens. So I'm going to figure this out this weekend.
