Default Is the "Step Down" required for the 5.3 Volt Regul

I just purchased two sets of Duralites with the 5.3 volt regulator.

I went with the 5.3 volt unit as I am not a hot 3D guy and wanted to have the electronics last a bit longer.

I am concerned with regard to the use of the Step Down for the gyro and tail rotor. I am running the Futaba 401/9254 combination on both of my .50 sized ships.

Do I need the Step down?

Thank you all in advance.

No, hot charged 4.8v packs are that much and more. Heck you dont need it with 5.6v regs either.

Thank you very much!

I installed the Duralites in two machines today.

Should be able to test things tomorrow, if time permits.

I love them, no field charging worries, consistent voltage from beginning to end and above and beyond product support from Mark and Jack.
