This is from a few days ago. The highlights are blown out a bit (not a DSLR). I am new to CS2 and have enjoyed reading the different techniques that have been shared. I tried using dreslism's method of contrast masking but was unsure of my results. Any photoshop suggestions would be appreciated!

I hope you don't mind that I messed with it, but here is another down and dirty 2 second simple trick for adjusting images. In photo shop, do a CTRL-J which makes a duplicate layer. Then in the layers pallet, change the layer from normal to Multiply if overexposed, and to Screen if underexposed. Once you do it, then do another CTRL-J and it will make another layer with the multiply or screen already set. Keep doing this until you get the image to be from "That looks great to, Oh my gosh I've ruined it." When you get the the "I've ruined it", then take the opacity of that layer and start backing it down until it looks OK to you. If you don't get it to come back to "Wow that looks great", then just under the last CTRL-J that you did. |

Thanks Scott,
That worked great! I've got a lot to learn and its cool to see what can be done by someone who knows what they are doing. John |

Mill Avenue bridge in Tempe. This bridge has history. It was the ONLY bridge that hadn't washed away during the flood of 1980. It was THE only way to get from the east valley to Phoenix. It was either wait for HOURS and HOURS to cross the bridge or charter a small cessna or piper to fly you from an airport in the east valley to Phoenix or Scottsdale. My dad flew many charter flights during those tense weeks.

Nice DJ. I wonder what the arch would look like with it's reflection from straight on. Kind of like an egyptian eye, I would suppose. Probably never gets cold enough there for the water to steam. That might look neat in B&W.

A client emailed me to let me know a photo I did of his house was on the front cover of the local Real Estate Book. Awesome! So when I finally located a grocery store with one in stock, I also noticed another home buying guide next to it also had one of my images on the front cover!
It ain't the National Geographic, but hey, I thought it was pretty cool! On the DFW Home Guide, my image is the upper right one, I shot it from my 55' mast. On the Real Estate book, the image is one we shot by taking off of a small garden table on the back deck.

I've been blown away by Tabb's amazing pano's. I've been practicing and studying for the last few weeks with my Bogen tripod and a Panosauras pano head. Now I've moved up to shooting them from my 55' tall mast, which is what I used for this one.
All I can say is, Tabb is the master. I can't afford a Carvec. My pair of CV-1's arrived on Thursday. Now if Angelos will get the ALTITUDE HOLD function working on the AP-2000, it would be a very Merry Christmas present to his loyal fans.
