Default What is this worth?

Hi all. Im new to helis and hew here too.

I recently stumbled across a brand new in box SJM 430 (500 class) heli that I bought for nearly nothing. It is a complete kit that of course needs a tx, rx, batt, servos, and gyro, but includes motor and esc.

I dont know anything about it, but it looks really cool. Some web searches have revealed that is probably a V1 from 2007, and that the SJM company has gone out of business. User reviews all look pretty positive, so do youtube vids.

My options are:

Build it and fly it, although im not quite ready for a 500 3d bird yet.
Build it and keep it as a garage ornament (if its worthless) since I paid nearly nothing for it.
Or sell it if it has any decent value.

I can provide pics if needed. Im not trying to sell it here, I'm just wondering if it has any value.

that heli would be hard to sell becasue the company is out of business so parts would be hard to get.

I would build it and fly

Thanks. I noticed a couple sites that apparently have replacement parts in stock, but im not sure about the quantity.

I guess I was wondering if there might be group of die-hards for this model that would like to get their hands on it for spare parts or something.

Its gonna be a while before I build and fly it. Since parts are scarce, I want to be well skilled before trying.

I just want to note that I'm not trying to spam here. It's not for sale, and I'm not trying to sell it, unless the general consensus was that it had high value, either for parts or fanboys of this model. If that would be the case, I will follow the appropriate channels in trying to sell it.

Info for it is scarce, So I hoped that people here might be able to give me some.

Hobby King still has some SJM parts. No idea what parts they have, as nearly all the parts have no picture available, and I dont know if their SKU number matches with SJM's numbers, but it's worth a look.

Never buy a heli that does not have a good parts supply. On the first crash, it can become worthless if you can't get what you need to fix it.

I have found a couple caches of spare parts online, so it shouldn't be too much of a project.
