Default Need Help on What to buy

Hello all I am looking to buy a RC heli but have no idea where to start. I want something that is in the 450-500 size range and have about 400.00 to spend. I have been doing alot of looking and found a strom 450 carbon fiber edition for 350.00 I think that it might be the one but i am not sure. I really want to get into 3D flying but feel so lost in all the heli's out there. can someone please help. Being new to this I have nothing so a kit that comes with everything is better for me then having to go out and order a bunch of different parts.

thanks again

Just to be clear... you've never flown RC helis before?

Just a quick time, money, and frustration savings suggestion for you: you might want to browse some of the stickies in this section about getting into the RC heli hobby. There is a lot more information there than I'm about to give below.

If you've never flown RC helicopters before, please be aware that it is not an easy thing to do. Obviously you've been researching as you know what 3D flying is. But actually flying is different story. It takes most of us months... that's right, months... of practice just to be able to learn to hover a helicopter properly. 3D flying can take years of practice to achieve.

We're all into promoting the hobby and glad to help new folks ease into it, but it helps a lot if you have realistic expectations.

There are a ton of threads like this. "What should I get for my first heli?", etc. That's why there are the stickies up there. See if you can browse some of those and search for similar threads. There is a lot of good discussion on how to get into the hobby.

agree with the above post.

Read the stickies.

Then get a sim (phenoix or real flight)
Then if you really want a 450 size - either the blade 450x or align trex 450.
Then crash and buy parts
