Anbody here seen a Blade 500X in person or planing to buy one? Whats your opinions? It seems like a good heli especially for the price point.

If you get it preorder it from ampdraw.com it will be $100 less.

I only seen pics and vids online, But from what i can tell it's going to be a BAD @$$ heli. I have a B500 3D on preorder. I should have it Early July. Not sure when the X will be out.

Good price? For not a whole lot more, you could buy a T-Rex 600 Pro!

Most other 500's already are 'known quantities'.

There's no reason why the 500X cannot be baddass but there's also no reason why it can.

Here's my take on it:

1. We don't know if the bladegrips will be oddball sized in terms of thickness of blades it accepts (if Blade are smart they will not do this ever again).

2. We don't know if the ESC is programmable or how good the governor it may have is (I am guessing no, it's not programmable but would like corrections from Blade).

3. We don't know the build quality of the parts.

4. We don't know the QC of the assembly line.

5. 500's swinging 425mm's are slightly more dangerous than 325's or 335's.

Ultimately:

Given all those I would suggest either waiting to see what it's like or if the 500's got to be now, getting something already available that people rave about. For a 500 I'd get an msh but you know my bias. A few of my acquaintances swear by the new T-Rex 500.

You build it on your own, more variables under your control.

That said, I can see the appeal for the 450X. A 500 however... is a bigger heli.

Are you including the price if an AR7200BX in that 600 price?

I think they want to much for the 500. Plastic blade grips head and tail. and its belt drive $900 . Only good thing comes out of is the combo 7 and beast x.

300 more bucks you can 600 And a fusion 50 and can you fly The fusion off of 6s to 12s and you can put your on stuff in it. beast x combo 230 bucks fusion kit 400, depending on servos starting from 60 bucks a servo (aligns ds610s) tail servo align ds620 60 bucks, Hk. Batteries 40 bucks 6s 5000mah or 40bucks a pack for going 12s.

Also plus its can swing from 600 size blades to 640s blades 80 bucks. Plus its a bigger bird, torque tube and easier to see. Everything on it is high quality . Just my thoughts.

Be blessed

Not so fast. A Trex600 will cost almost double when you go to buy batteries. Align ESCs are known to be trouble, and there are better helis out there than both E-flight and Align.

Also a 600 size machine is huge compared to something swinging 425mm blades.

Stick with the 500 class for now, but do some research. E-flight is getting their act together, their 450 is miles ahead of the B400.

Also, the replacement costs of part of a T-Rex 600 Pro are higher.

If you look at getting these ready to fly, HeliHobby has a Trex500 for $789 MSRP + $275 for their custom build comes up to $1,064 which is about $200 more than the Blade 500.

Personally, if I'm spending $900 for a Blade 500, I'd go the extra $200 and get the Trex.

BeastX means nothing to me. I have been using a 3GX for months with great success, I tried the BeastX and didn't find it any different. No better, no worse.

But this isn't about that. $900 for a Blade heli is ridiculous, regardless of the BeastX. Take that away, and you have a 500 sized heli with sub-par electronics for $700...that's T-Rex 500 Pro territory.

I am also considering the fact of getting replacement parts fast with out having to pay for shipping. My LHS carries Blade and Align. So those are my primary choices. If money and replacement part availablilty weren't an issue I'd be getting a Logo Extreme 800/700 or the new Whiplash 90.

Seems like to me you could buy the 500EFL pro, sell the 3gx, buy the Beastx and still come out ahead.

Or, you could buy the Trex 500e, DFC head and Beastx and come out even cheaper.

I have to throw it out there everytime this subject is brought up. www.ampdraw.com lists the 500x for $775.19. Click add to cart to show their price.

Blade owns the small heli market and is only gonna grow more with the 300 and 130 coming.. However the 450X is not flying off the shelves even though it's a nice heli.. I think blade reached just a little to far coming into the 500 class.. Unless they drop there price another $150 or $200.. Then they could have a chance.. I don't think the 500 will do well at all. This is not a knock my any means on Blade.. I just think there market is in micro and smaller heli's.

True the 450 is miles ahead of the 400 but eflite is still miles behind on quality lol. just cuz they put the ar7200bx on a crap airframe w/crap servos. But about the 500, there is no way i would trust a bird that size from eflite. I think they are best with micro helis w/ the exception of the sr. Not sure what they were thinking on that one. Anything larger than the 120sr and i would just go elsewhere for the quality.

Funny how most of you are quick to say this 500X will be crap, poor quality, etc..

The 500X has really nice Spektrum servos, CF frame, AR7200BX, a new motor, a new ESC.

Why do you guys call it crap? Has any of you actually tested the machine?
