The BE can be pre-ordered at Fast Lad in the UK. Expected delivery date is end of March 2013.

Gps is quite large and extra weight 42g+ ,against 14g stock weight.

Default Here's Mine mounted on an X5
Super easy install even for a noob like me!

Made the GPS mount out of an extra tail support clamp (3.99 for 2)
with a couple of glued on Lego's for a nice perfectly level (and non ferrous)
mounting surface.
Even without SS bolts it still registered .62 on the GPS's magnetic sensor.

So far I've only been able to test the position hold feature. Works very well just have to watch the collective when you switch back to manual mode...

Cant wait to get this puppy dialed in on the X7!

Starting reading this thread with the October entries and LOL Skookum's website is saying coming soon for the BE which I guess is what it has been saying for years. I appreciate that it has been three years in development and that they are doing a lot of work on it, but personally, I don't think I would buy the first release of anything. I'll sit back, wait and see what the reports are. And probably by that time, there will be 32 other systems out there with loyal followers for each all saying theirs is the best and the rest are crap.

Its the GPS module that has been in development for a couple years, not the BE. The coming of the BE was only recently announced mid last year and its not a first version of anything.

The original SK720 unit has been out for years and the SK720BE is the next rendition with updated gyro technology on an already proven platform. The SK540 is has also already been using this technology for some time.

Auto makers have been releasing newer, updated versions of cars that have been in production for years. Maybe we should all wait to buy one and see if this whole Mustang or Camaro thing is going to work out since its only been 45 years or so

As was said the timing really coincided with the coldest part of the winter and the days are pretty short, so not much luck flying after most people's work days.

This weekend will be around freezing, and I'm not going to fly in that weather.

I will however consider building my new Synergy E5 which should be delivered on Saturday
