Got a call from David Sussman from Atlanta today. Some of you that were here last year may remember him. He is the guy that had the cookies and pastries for anyone that wanted them. Well he is going to be back again this year and will have the same setup. This is some top notch sweets and cakes. So be sure to tell David how much you appreciate him furnishing the items for your enjoyment. The best thing about David doing this is the price is something that everyone enjoys. It is a Freebie, Nada, Zilch.

So all we need now is someone with a big coffee pot and we should be set.lol

Today, weather was great again. The field looks awesome.

I fed the ditch a Stratus today... It wasn't that hungry so it just got a boom and some servo gears and a canopy. (botched an *attempt* at an inverted auto, blades stopped).

From what I have seen, most people are gone or at least packing up to leave by noon or so on Sunday.

Have checked all the different websites for weather forecasts this AM.

All of them pretty much read the same. It is forecasted to be in the 60's each day of the event. That is about 10-15 degs cooler than it is today and tomorrow. Suppose to rain here Wednesday or Thursday.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday are forecasted to be clear.
The Accu weather forecast above is the only one I have seen that has the forecast for the wind. The others are all listing 5 to 10 mph for the wind. Direction is forecasted from the southwest. So that should make it warm temps up quicker each morning.

If your friend arrives in a full size heli. He can land across the road from the event in the pasture. This would be on the south side of the event area. That is where full size helis have landed and took off at past events.

Also for anyone that does not want to stay at the field in an RV. Here is a nice RV park that is only like 7-8 miles away from the event site. It is located at exit 10 on I-459 and the field is located at Exit 6 on I-459. If you have a large motorhome it would be ideal place to stay. They have lots of amenties at the RV park.

The Sleep Inn that is only a couple of miles from the field still has a few rooms left. It is a nice, clean motel. I have obtained a special rate of $50 a night plus tax. Just mention Birmingham Helicopter Modelers when you make the reservation.

Comfort Inn: 205-428-3999 exit 108 on I-59/20
Sleep Inn: 205-424-0000 exit 6 on I-459
(mention heli event at two above for special rate closest to field)
