If it's a standard size then yeah but you have to have the same ID and OD for everything to fit correctly, however an aluminum substitute with the same ID may be heavy? From the pictures it seems the tail case goes inside the boom not around the outside so the ID needs to be the same.

There is a good reason that carbon fiber is used for the tail boom. It is a lot stronger and lighter than aluminum. A lot of thought was given to the material to be used for the tail boom. Because of the lack of boom supports, the tail boom needs to be extremely rigid to prevent any unwanted tendencies such as head bobble during hard 3D maneuvers, especially hard stops. It also has to be very light to keep the center of gravity at the main shaft. While it may be possible to find an aluminum tube to replace the carbon fiber boom, it is highly discouraged.

Exactly...This dawned on me earlier and I wanted to share but I see it's been explained. The Goblin boom is very complex and the Avant boom is a red tube. |

Is it safe to assume that since everything in the system is conductive, that static build up from the belt will not be an issue with out needing any additional grounding?

One other minor tidbit.
The heli is called MOSTRO...not MONSTRO. Mostro is Spanish for "great" or "superb" I think. Not sure why an American company chose a Spanish word for the name, but then again who cares. I'm getting one. |

I believe that "Mostro" is Italian for Monster.

Nailed it also static build up is a non issues with a carbon boom. If you feel the need to be extra safe, maybe spray some silicon on the belt.

The Mostro will be as exciting as the launch of the Goblin 700. Everything looks good and I like the servo horn support idea.
One thing I am concerned about thou, no motor shaft support for a machine that will be using extreamly powerfull motors. Goblin eventually added this to their 630+ sized machines |

The pinion support bearing is not really needed. It is very unlikely that the motor bearings will develop slop. The reason that some other helicopters have pinion support bearings is because they have a single stage drivetrain and the support prevents any flexing, which could strip the main gear. In most helicopters with 2 stage drive trains, a pinion support is not an essential piece of hardware.

Yep, Diabolo doesn't have one and Henseleit says the TDR doesn't need it (with the Pyro 750 - 10mm shaft motor) although the older gen 6mm shaft Pyro would still be much better with it. Since probably most manufacturers are all 8-10mm shafts now apparently the lower bearing support isn't so important, even with a belt.

6mm
As far as I know they're still mostly 6 mm even the KDE 700xf has a 6 mm shaft and that's one of the most powerful motors out there right now.
