Thumbs up new gaui X4 head setup and review

I just got the new gaui fbl X4 head it comes with the shaft, yoke, grips, grip extensions
and swash locks

One of the grip extensions was not secured with lock tight, I checked all the bolts
the grips are the same size as my x5 grips but have a 10mm opening for 425 blades

The only problem im seeing is the head is alot lower, and its going to limit the amout of collective pitch I can use.
I might have to use the grips, yoke off my x4 assembly with the x5 shaft and 425 cnc swash lock.

Will post later how much collective pitch I can get with out binding when I input cyclic at max movement
I got the kit at flying hobby in hong kong, I paid 88 and 16 for ems shipping, I got them in 4 days.

So I was able to get 15 +/- degrees of collective pitch without cyclic binding
I had to move my pitch roll, elevator arms down

how much cyclic deflection do you get at max pitch then?

Is this what you mean?: "...how much collective pitch I can get with out binding when I input cyclic at max movement"

does that mean with max positive collective and max cyclic you are getting +-15º then?

not sure what you mean here, are you saying that you redid the bellcranks so that they are angled downward?

15 on collective
12 on cyclic max

That's at full collective, and full cyclic movement

Im only running 12 on collective
And 11 on pitch

I just wanted to see what max was

I measure them seperately, for cyclic pitch
My sk720 locks the swash for me to measure my max cyclic pitch

Do you think it would work properly on my plastic 425 EP?

Well, Vas' thread on the X4 lowrider FBL head convinced me. My LHS got the Spektrum AR7200BX in yesterday and I picked one up. Ordered the X4 head assembly (#213206) but I didn't come in with their shipment. Never setup a Beast X before so that ought to be interesting...

Default Franken X4

Picked up the X4 head yesterday and swapped it with the flybared unit last night. All went well, very straight-forward and fewer parts to adjust, no binding and everything leveled well. My spindle bolts were lock-tighted but nothing else was. The plastic grips required the thin spacers at the root but the X4 grips are fine without them.

I'll install the AR7200BX tonight and start the learning process for configuring the Beast X. Hoping for good weather in Denver this weekend!

Finished the X4 head/Beast X installation and setup and dropped into my LHS (Action RC, Lakewood, CO) to have them verify my settings. They made a couple tweaks and got it dialed in, amazing how fast the Beast X can be configured when you've done it a bunch of times like they do.

Also, the Beast X has so many settings from mild to wild that would make it hard to compare with the flybar head. Mine is setup to be mild, so it will be interesting to compare the two myself. I'll fly it this weekend and get back to you ChrisRain.

cause there are so many rumors about "take-off fast" and "don´t let the heli sit on the ground as long as necessary" when you have the BeastX mounted, here is a vid that proofs the opposite:

Flew the Gaui 425 EP/X4 head/BeastX combo this morning. Surprised at how much it flies like the flybarred/GY520 version (wonderful), except a little more stable. No dual rates or expo in the transmitter, only the 'control behavior' setting in BeastX.

I'm very pleased!

If you purchased Oppie's 425 you got a nice helicopter at a good price. Well done!

From a flying standpoint probably nothing.
