Default First loop

Just got back from the field, only have one ageing battery so flight is restricted to 3.5 mins per charge, had the GF watching and was feeling like all the forum reading tweaking and some regular flying was paying off, went full speed pulled up and kept on pulling, Wow. That was a pretty ugly loop! Lots of blade clapping sounds and nowhere near circular but the Heli was around and back level - YEAH BUDDY!.

Thank you too all here in the KDS section for the advice and tips. Even though not directly at me its great to read all the previous issues and that really helps.

Next charge will be working on working the pitch into a little negative to round out the loop, who knows maybe even a little inverted.

In short- read everthing here- all of it. Go IU as soon as you can wish I had sooner, and have more than one battery:-P

Good to know you made it, that first bit of inverted flying is exciting as hell

congrats on your first loop - I remember my first one. I almost p...d my pants.

I told to my buddies who were standing around me: "OK folks - I am going to do it now" - so there would be no way back. And then did just about the same thing like you did and it felt just great.

I did a couple of them and then after landing the heli, I had to sit down for a moment to get my hands to stop shaking.

Yeah 3 flights yesterday, loops on all of them still ugly, its still a surprise that I'm so dumb thumbed in real life when I can do them pretty well in phoenix. Even held it inverted for a bit !!!B-). :-! Very happy even got some claps from passersby

Gratz on your first flips.... Mine were ugly too sometimes they are still ugly. Next thing you will be doing is flipping it over and holding and inverted hover. You know its coming

nice flying, the loops got better and better.

you might want to try to reduce pitch a bit later and move less into negative pitch. This way it does not slow down as much while in the inverted phase.

A real nice flight and the landing wasn't bad at all for my taste.

Thanks guys working on a GoPro mount to film the next flights better. Smoother loops this morning. Was holding collective longer and then like you said less negative and felt way better holding speed through the whole maneuver. Next up holding it at inverted.

From what I see you can hold a inverted hover no problem.... Just start out high at first ....

You do it on the sim all the time.... just give yourself enough room to bail out and do it just like you would on the sim

and don't make the mistake to start thinking things like: "which way am I supposed to move the stick now...?" - just fly the heli - you see, it'll be great!

(don't think - just fly - you can do it! )
