Castlelink and phoenix ice 80hv settings checkover
Just looking for someone to give my setup a quick look over to make sure it looks ok. I've being following Bobs videos which helped me get my head around a lot of it but the software has changed quite a bit since he did them.

I checked the throttle hold and adjusted the throttle hold % without the blades on to make sure it went back up to power as per the instructions and it seems like i've done it correctly as it does. However i noticed some peoples setups have 3 different headspeeds, I can only have 2 even though i have a 3 position FM switch. My Norm throttle curve is Flat 0, My Stunt 1 is flat 70% (1900) and my Stunt 2 is 100% (2200) If i had setup my throttle endpoints incorrectly i would assume the esc wouldn't arm is this correct? Apart from that i think its ready for its maiden I know there's a bit to go through there halfway through the setup i was wishing it would be like my 450 where it had 5 settings and that was it lol, I have to say though the software is pretty good. Thanks |

If you set it up as per the CC? Then it should be the following:-
Normal - 30% straight Idle 1 - 70% straight Idle 2 - 100 straight Some people set the Normal to 0,30,30,30,30 because the CC will not arm until it sees 0 (zero). I have a straight 30% and use the Throttle Hold as my 0 (zero) to arm the CC>

The way i read it i assumed that i am needing the normal mode with a Flat 0 throttle curve because of the autorotation setup.
If i can change it and run Flat 30 across the throttle pitch I'l do it, It wouldn't arm when i tried to change it though because my throttle hold is set to positive 15.5% rather than 0. I guess i could run the Normal throttle curve at 0 30 30 30 30 for spooling up because i only fly in mode 1 or 2? |

I'm using three governed head speeds with a Castle ICE Lite 50. I'm also using auto-rotation enabled. My throttle curves are:
N: 0-30-INH-30-INH-INH-30 1: 70 Flat 2: 100 Flat I have 7-point curves in my 9303. My Throttle Hold is calibrated for auto-rotation (15%). I use normal mode for arming the ESC and spooling up. I didn't want to use a flat 0 for normal mode as that could get you into serious trouble should you inadvertently hit Normal mode during flight (if your TC was flat 0%). You flip back into Stunt mode but you get soft start, which depending upon your altitude and other things, you might be able to save it but most likely will not. If you have a radio with Throttle Cut on it, you can have three Stunt curves, Throttle Hold with auto-rotate enabled, and 0% (Throttle Cut) for arming your ESC. My best friend does it that way with his DX-8.

you could just d/l the castle setup file from KDE's performance section tweak it with your motor and gov settings and call it a day
