Default LiHV Chemistry support

It's here!

I just received an email from Revolectrix saying that the s/w support or Blend427/435 is out. Just download latest update for PL6/8 and do the usual update and copy new presets. Don't forget to backup first and never use on 4.2v lipos.

Also added in this update is high power charging as well as storage charge for 1s cells. These new 1s presets first appeared in the DPL and now are available for the PL6 and PL8.

Sorry for my ignorance but how do you I update the new firmware? Is it just matter of opening the PL6 software on my laptop then plug in my PL6 and the new firmware should appear somewhere for me to download in my PL6? And what number in the new library is the Blend 427 charge preset?

You'll need the USB interface (FUIM3) and the free CCS software from Revolectrix. The firmware update is available on the "firmware" tab. After the firmware load the new presets by selecting an open preset and then "Open file to preset" from file menu. The HV presets are found in the LiHV folder.

If I already copied the lipo preset to end on 4,27
Is it still useful to switch to the factory supplied setting. Did something else change the fuel map or anything?

The fuel map did change as it's different for the 4.27v cells. However if the configuration you have is working, it isn't critical to change to the new presets. You can also generate your own custom fuel map for your packs using the wizard.

Also the new chemistry has a different prompt when starting the charge cycle. Instead of saying LiPo, it says HV. Just another confirmation step to help the accidentally charging of regular LiPos as HV LiPos.
