Default Sk 720 and telemetry and many other ?s

Any port that supplies power and is unused can be used... It makes no difference which... You can even use a y-lead on a port that is in use...

That's what I thought too, but there seems to be ports in FBL units where if one connects the TM1000, one would not be able to bind both the satellites and the TM1000. zorax2 reported issues in his #33 post, JBlade@HF also reported issues in his #34 post, and I had a similar issue when the TM1000 was connected to the Aux port on the VBar.

Again, I do not know why some ports work and other do not, but that has been my observation.

That really is odd.

Since the TM1000 is at minimum a standalone unit that just needs power, I don't think this has anything to do with your SK-540.

I'm at a loss unless maybe your TM1000 is having issues ???

How much power does a TM1000 use? It's possible that some units are a bit more thirsty than they should be and some FBL circuits have trouble distributing power well.

I've got a spare TM1000 that worked with an SK-720 I own, before I switched to an 11X which doesn't support telemetry. (BTW I had two satellites )

I'll never use it again, if you need a second unit to compare with.

PM me an address and when the ice clears I'll drop it in the mail to you.

Edit: One difference is that I wasn't runing the rpm sensor to my SK-720, just the TM1000

Again, it does not seem to be a faulty TM1000 or faulty FBL unit that is causing this inability to bind both the TM1000 and sats at the same time. It is just that some of the FBL unit ports don't seem to "play" well with the TM1000. All I can think of, is that pressing the TM1000 button causes the two outer servo wires (signal and ground) to communicate, and some ports are affected in such a way, that when the signal and ground pins communicate, the sats will not go into bind mode.

Default Binding problem solved

Here's how I bound the SK540 and TM1000 simultaneously
I disconnected the TM1000 lead from the SK540, and put it into bind mode by pressing the button whilst powering it up from a BEC connected to another battery. Then I powered up the SK540 in bind mode. Now, with both sats and TM1000 all flashing I turned on the DX8 and it bound to everything including the telemetry. Powered everything down, plugged the TM1000 lead back into IO-B port of SK540, and now when I power up the heli everything works!!!

That's a "thinking outside the box" method of biding both the TM1000 and sats. Glad it worked. The one pitfall I see with that method is on future rebinding if you use Shoe Goo or some other adhesive method to keep your servo connectors from disconnecting. Every future rebinding may turn into an inconvenience. Maybe consider a bridging connector between the TM1000 and the FBL unit?

May?

You're awfully optimistic there...

With a TM1000 as part of the setup, binding/rebinding will always be an inconvenience...

It might be a bit inconvenient, but at least it works. Personally, I wouldn't bother going to a lot of trouble to secure the telemetry unit connector - if it were to come out you would only lose telemetry, not control
